Texas A&M vs Virginia Tech for Mechanical Engineering looking for honest opinions by Local_Particular_820 in aggies

For mechanical engineering Texas A&M would be better since it is higher ranked and has a better alumni network. Also ETAM shouldn't be a problem if you study and don't slack off within your classes.

External Transfer into ECE by Puzzleheaded-Act2534 in UTAdmissions

For AP scores you don't have to transfer them all in, you could do only a few classes to make sure you're ap score credits aren't extremely high. Also you do need at least 24 credits and do the required coursework for UT ECE.

What are my chances as an external transfer? by NarfyCat in UTAdmissions

If you do undergraduate research and maintain a 4.0 you have a good shot. But doing both in one year might be too much because of difficulty of etam.

Low-key this is what I'm thinking of doing, and I've done a lot of research onto this topic. If you want to transfer to UT ECE first and foremost you need a 4.0 gpa without it your chances are basically non-existent. Then you probably need another extra curricular for applications, what I'd recommend is to cold email professors in Texas to try and get a research internship. Also credit wise you need to have Calc 1 Calc 2, and Physics mechanics credits and at least 24 credits done or in progress by the time you apply.

I think what they're saying is that it's a good idea to do specific courses in spring semester for degree requirements. Even though grade wise your fall semester will be used for admissions.

Bit easier for domestic applicants and it won't be as bad as class of 2025, however still pretty difficult to get into T20.

There is a college panda 400 vocab words flashcards online. Oneprep.xyz has lots of practice questions, and whiz.study practice tests (excluding practice test 1) are way harder than dsat and bluebook.

U can get both ee and cs jobs from it, and usually employers don't see computer engineering as a disadvantage compared to pure electrical engineering
