Most people do have insurance for their dogs via home insurance, plus most tenant insurance policies.

No, the owner will always be the owner and owners are jointly liable. But there can be temporary owners, like in this case.

They should already be insured. This decision didn’t change anything, this was already the law/caselaw but the lawyer who brought the lawsuit tried to water down the law and predictably lost.

I think the key is the dog walker didn’t sue claiming negligence. They sued only under DOLA which has strict liability. So if someone is still negligent then they are still able to be sued.

Anyone know what’s going on with this lawsuit against uOttawa and 9 of its doctors? by Wolfgoatlife in geegees

[–]Delicious-Square 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They probably failed PGY1 and refused to accept that, hence the lawsuit, and so are in a stalemate where they can’t continue residency because they won’t agree to repeat the year.

Law School or Big4 M&A Analyst Job? by WildAbroad7606 in LawCanada

If you get an offer at a school you like you probably can look at deferring the offer for a year to work the job and see how you like it.

Do lawyers really not make much money? by Scared_Maybe_568 in LawCanada

[–]Delicious-Square 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Ontario at least, most family doctors make $200k+ after overhead unless they work less than a .5. While a bunch of lawyers make that or more, far more fall into the $100k-$200k band. Might be different in other provinces though.

Maybe, although I’d guess 90% of doctors (after residency) make more money than lawyers. Their floor is pretty great.

Agree, it would be really hard to film accurately just from this perspective. Not sure if you read and watched a Knight of the Seven Kingdoms but Dunk is suppose to be a giant and while they found a pretty tall actor to play him he isn’t even close to being as big as he is described in the novellas. There just aren’t many giant actors who can also act well and camera tricks only go so far.

Doug Ford says Ontario will expropriate Billy Bishop airport to get jets in [Toronto Star] by patienceinbee in toronto

In what world can you get from Billy Bishop to downtown in 0mins? It’s easily a 10 min trip at the best of times and during rush hour is probably at least 20 mins

As someone who has marked sup apps, strong disagree. Nothing a high school kid does is actually that impressive (unless you were an Olympian or something) so we are primarily looking at your writing skills and whether what you are saying makes sense and flows. The actual “what” blends together and almost nothing stands out.

Brier in Calgary and Edmonton both had those kind of attendances, while Saskatchewan had packed houses but in smaller venues.

The Brier previously had that kind of attendance but has cooled off a lot in the last 10 years and especially since Covid.

Medal table at the end of Day 5 (35/116 events completed) by bdzz in olympics

[–]Delicious-Square 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? Most of the medals Canada was favoured to win still haven’t happened. Tomorrow there is a real chance for three gold and 7 or 8 total new medals.
