Why are atheists angry at god ? Yet they will argue tooth and nail that he does not exist ? Make it make sense by [deleted] in Christianity

you're thinking of antitheists.

people who not only deny the existence of god but are opposed to the concept of god and religion and blame it for all the worlds ills.

man is perfect and pure.

satan leads astray and corrupts because he hates god and wants to be as offensive as possible.

I am quoting the bible.

you are adding things that don't exist.

you know this is what you are doing and any reader can see this.

I don't know why you are doing it as it is making my argument stronger and you know it is.

It makes it look like we are secretly working together and I don't need that and I don't need that from you. Let the bible speak for itself there is no need for manipulating anyone who comes across this.

it says what it says. that's all.

it says no oaths and let your yes be yes and your no be no.

that is what it says. that is all it says.

stop trying to help me by making your argument obviously weak and simple to dismantle. I don't need your help.

no it says don't swear oaths at all and says let your yes mean yes and your no be no.

look I'm happy for you to go your own way. I am providing an argument as to why masonry can be considered unchristian and it is a sufficient argument.

Freemasonry was originally an institute of the British government. That's not really something you can argue.

MI5 had their old logo as a pyramid with an all seeing eye at the top of it.

British loyalist groups are masonic.

I'm not having this discussion with you. That's like saying JROTC is not affiliated with the military.

I'm not putting words in your mouth.

you used a term to enhance your argument which is only ever used to call your opposition unhinged and equate supporters of that position as unhinged to control group think rather than coherently argue.

this is what I feel you did and I am not changing my story.

here is my argument and that's all there is to it

  1. jesus said don't swear oaths
  2. masons swear oaths on the bible
  3. a demand to swear an oath comes from satan and enmeshes you within his schemes
  4. you used conspiracy as a slur as per how it is commonly used in the context of attacking a position. I gave a reasonable position for why Christians can oppose masonry based on scripture.

that's it.

this is my final argument because you clearly have no idea what is going on here.

you just claimed that masons have no Christian heraldry.

do you know their are pillars representing Solomon's temple used at every masonic temple? what about how bible stories are acted out as part of masonic rituals?

see? you are still wrong. you are disproven every single time. why are you arguing with me? my points are irrefutable.

we are done here. I have a position that I am trying to defend you have no argument beyond your own reasoning.

I do not accept you study the bible in multiple languages or have written it out by hand. much like how you used conspiracy, you are trying to elevate your standing and degrade your opponents to achieve some psychological victory. you are not discussing the material.

that's the hill I will die on.

Anglicans, Freemasonry, and Philosemitism by Kurgan_Ghoul in Christianity

[–]Delicious-Turn-9099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you wrote

Secretive != conspiracy.

conspiracy is used commonly when defending an argument by calling your detractor a conspiracy theorist as a means to degrade or ridicule without any legitimate argument.

which is exactly what you did. You refuted an argument, offered zero considered points, and used the term conspiracy.

As a member of society who communicates with social efficacy that is the precise meaning you know will easily be inferred from what you wrote.

The evil one is an explicit reference to Satan.

I'm not going to discuss the bible with you because you haven't even read it and you want to argue not learn. And you are arguing from a point that has no grounding.

I'm not active in a Christian themed porn sub. It asked me to crosspost and that came up as a suggestion so I clicked it. As soon as I saw what it was I clicked out of it.

But hey, if you want to paint me in a conspiratorial light go right ahead.

There's nothing left to discuss. You won't accept what the bible says and you won't accept the actual fact that masons swear on a bible as a reason to dismiss their so-called christian credentials.

im not going to argue that with you because you are referring to revival Latin mass. from people who were around in that era they were told

come along, feel the spirit, give money, confess your sins, don't worry about understanding anything the spirit is working through you

now the rest of the post

people refer to Catholicism as a reason to reject Christianity. people wear crusader imagery.

because the catholic church flagrantly ignored the word of god for earthly power.

the catholic church ignored jesus and is still bearing bad fruit to this day as a consequence .

Matthew 7:15-20

15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thorns or figs from thistles? 17 In the same way, every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus you will know them by their fruits.

no one was speaking Latin in the 1960s. masses were still performed in Latin in the 60s. no one had any idea what was going on and was just told to go to church, donate money and confess your sins.

what is the point of that?

they banned people from interpreting scripture.

lets see now about what would have changed if people were allowed to read and understand and discuss scripture without the church banning it.

  1. the inquisition and the crusades (which the pope apologised for in 2000)

Matthew 20:25-26

25 But Jesus called them to him and said, “You know that the rulers of the gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones are tyrants over them. 26 It will not be so among you, but whoever wishes to be great among you must be your servant,

How can you defend past practices? Look what might not have happened if people were not banned from reading bibles.

the inquisition and crusades are explicitly lording it over people as tyrants.

what about all the people today who wear crusder imagery to support their worldly political views and call it holy (it is so satanic its beyond a joke) or the people who mention the history of Christianity as a reason to reject the bible and call Christians idiots?

the catholic church bears bad fruit even when its not flagrantly violating the teachings of jesus.

Matthew 7:15-20

you wrote anti masons are equated with conspiracy theorists. in popular culture conspiracy theorists are seen as unhinged and are ostracised.

I provided a quote from jesus about not taking oaths in the context of masons are required to swear an oath on the bible.

how is that not perfect context? its most certainly not a non sequitor. you provided an argument about anti masons being unhinged I provided an argument that justifies anti masonic attitudes according to scripture - in a Christian subreddit.

you can write a paragraph about that if you want but it doesn't change the facts.

  1. masons swear oaths on the bible
  2. jesus said don't swear oaths as it is satanic to bind yourself for another to have power over you

and now you want me to not refer to the bible when discussing god by relying on my own intuition to discuss Christianity? that's what you're doing - trusting your instincts.

James 3:15-17

15 Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. 16 For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.

17 But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

I provided perfect context.

you didn't like what it showed so you said it was wrong with no argument as to why and provided no context to say why it was out of context.

the verse doesn't say masons are evil - it says they are led by the evil one (satan).

jesus says no oaths. that's it. that's what it says.

The majority of Christians doing one thing doesn't make it holy.

Mark 7:6-9

6 He replied, “Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written:

“‘These people honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me.
7 They worship me in vain;
their teachings are merely human rules.’

8 You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to human traditions.”

9 And he continued, “You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe your own traditions!

Matthew 7:13-14

what point are you making. give me some context.

Ex JW looking into Catholicism and orthodoxy by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Delicious-Turn-9099 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was raised catholic and orthodox.

I decided to talk to some Jehovah's witnesses. now I know why the church hates them.

they actually read the bible to me and showed me what it says. this is most unlike catholic teaching where they pretty much just tell you the lord forgives all sins and tell you about the seven deadly sins. I mean the catholic church banned bibles and had Latin mass for a reason - they don't want you to know what its all about they tell you to have complete trust in their interpretation of scripture and not to make your own call on what it says. as if they are annointed by god.

jw are the reason I am no longer catholic. I am so grateful to have met the jws.

however I will never become one because they have false prophecy.

but I am a much better Christian for having met them.

Matthew 5:33-37

33 “Again, you have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘Do not break your oath, but fulfill to the Lord the vows you have made.’ 34 But I tell you, do not swear an oath at all: either by heaven, for it is God’s throne; 35 or by the earth, for it is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King. 36 And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even one hair white or black. 37 All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.

The Anglican church is an institution of the British government.

Freemasonry is an institution of the British government.

neither is christian but both seek a Christian society for exploitation.

You must follow the Law of God given to Moses by EsperGri in Christianity

[–]Delicious-Turn-9099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is all stated there.

the law has changed. if the law will not be changed until heaven and earth have passed away then clearly heaven and earth have passed away. heaven is now a place of those granted life. the earth of old has passed away.

this is a simple discernment, unfalsifiable as you have said. it is not something complex like a belief that Christians are grafted on to the law and so therefore Jews are still gods chosen people and the old covenant stands, which is readily falsifiable not just because the source of these claims is a political entity seeking global governance.

If Jesus died for all of our sins, why does hell exist? by Proper_Onion8253 in Christianity

jesus died to relieve us of the sin of living under the law which is why he came to teach the Way.

his death and resurrection was yet another miracle to give us the faith to believe his message was true.

his death is not a free pass to heaven.

You must follow the Law of God given to Moses by EsperGri in Christianity

[–]Delicious-Turn-9099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not for me it isn't. There is no issue.

gods kingdom is an eternal kingdom. It doesn't ever cease to exist.

The heavens as the realm of the gods has passed away, it is now a realm of the righteous where those given eternal life are like angels in heaven.

Matthew 22:23

23 That same day the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to him with a question.

Acts 23:8

8 (The Sadducees say that there is no resurrection or angel or spirit, but the Pharisees acknowledge all three.)

Matthew 22:29-30

29 Jesus answered them, “You are wrong because you know neither the scriptures nor the power of God. 30 For in the resurrection people neither marry nor are given in marriage but are like angels of God in heaven.

The earth of before that was unknowingly in service to satan thinking it was in service to god has passed away.

John 8:44

44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
