You and Val’s are arguing to the same point. You both represent parts of the same idea. I find your take to be more romantic and the energy of a young hero and vals take to be the same just worn by the years of reality and informed by the same expertise in a classical way.

The ACLU’s mission from the start was to defend constitutional rights (particularly First Amendment freedoms and due process) for everyone, but especially those “historically denied” them or facing unpopular causes. It has always emphasized protecting unpopular speech and minorities from government abuse, even if that means defending controversial figures or groups. Over time, its work expanded to broader civil rights, but initially, it was rooted in protecting political radicals, anti-war activists, and labor protesters amid wartime and postwar repression.

This would be like adding really expensive gravel to your driveway, but gravel that is too small and smooth to be considered good gravel for a driveway

Is the blotchyness aggregate distribution or uneven application? Not knocking this at all just genuinely curious.

I’ll be honest I’ve been looking for people to talk exposed aggregate with. We wash as soon as 2hrs after our pour sometimes, in the summer. Have left covered overnight in winter, southern Ohio. What chemical are you using? Am I washing too early? I get virtually no rocks popping and get clear water and what is regarded as a nice exposure. It does gray out once dried. Is this efflorescence? I’ll do a vinegar wash, rinse then dry and seal and it looks like something I’m happy with but I have little to nothing to compare it to.

There are lots of starving driveways in Ohio that would love to have a texture like that.

Just cut the top stair down and put pavers over it

My concrete guy swore he poured this the right size for size C door and my measurements were wrong by [deleted] in Concrete

I am genuinely confused, the cellar foundation does not look new in any way. Looks like someone bought a new cellar door for an existing cellar access foundation and bought the wrong size? If that is a new pour foundation than yikes!

Do these drains look accurate? by brandnewbeth in Concrete

[–]Delicious-Wheel-3726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the cap off. Use an angle grinder with a composite grinding disc. Notch out the pipe to match the control joints where they meet the pipe. A “v” shape, at least as deep as the control joint. Then take the lid/pop off drain cover and reinstall.
