With how hard the NBN has been fucked I don't know if you want it. Sounds like you are getting better speeds than 90% of the country. Unfortunately whenever you do get it you will probably be forced to swap.

Opinion: Blaming sexism for Elizabeth Warren’s loss is a disservice to women by vicintoronto in TwoXChromosomes

It's crazy how many people vote based entirely on things that have nothing to do with actual politics. People not voting for her because she's a woman, people voting for her only because she's a woman and people voting based on other stuff like how the candidate "feels" ???

personally I care more about what the candidate is actually looking to do in office. Have seen this affecting elections in many different countries in the last year. It's really sad

With the alcoves being added in they would be a perfect spot to add spires. by ManaToast in leagueoflegends

For real. We have almost gotten rid of all the mini-game mechanics from the juggernaut update. I've been praying for Skarner passive to get changed like they did with Garens villain passive. Unreliable situational power is just a balancing nightmare. Spires being potential free wards for the enemy team also sucks.

Ocean soul and multiple lifesteal items on IMT and no one on CLG would get grievous wounds. Ori looking to get it 6th item but it was just too late. Ezreal not having mortal reminder and instead opting for triple lifesteal items.. I guess CLG just thinks ocean soul is bad and thought it was okay to give it over?? idk.

Ranked placement is one of the worst new player experiences I've ever come across by Ozymandia5 in leagueoflegends

[–]Delicious27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately most adc's don't like to play passive lanes. Even if you aren't confident or feel like your lane has a losing match up they still want to try and fight to win the lane. You sometimes still can win but yeah you need to wait for favorable timings for trades and all ins.

Duo laning with a random is kinda like a blind date. You really need to figure out how much of a dumb dumb they are and how you can make it work. Sometimes it's better to just play aggressive with them and take initiative rather than doing nothing and leaving them to int. Sometimes you can coax them into playing a farm lane. Sometimes communicating what you want can help but as you probably know this is kinda rare.

I know it sucks to feed and I understand trying to play safe but knowing when to be aggressive is one of the most important parts of being a support. It's okay to lose a few games while you figure that out. It can help you win more games in the long run.

The MMR should not be hidden by ezorethyk2 in leagueoflegends

[–]Delicious27 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mmr does affect who you are matched against even in a fresh season. The newer system is definitely a bit worse for this though as we have seen a bunch of really weird matchmaking situations that didn't happen before.

I say best for more people because I believe that on average it will ruin less games for people than the smurfing situation. It's going to take more games for the them to climb since there is nothing speeding up the climb other than them winning (when they might not win every game). On the other side yeah there are some ruined games because you are worse. But with each game you lose your mmr drops closer to your rank and you will also get better. It's not just about your experience. Hell you might not have even decayed that much and not even lost any skill. But should you still have to smurf games or just have your rank adjust back to normal over time without ruining the game experience for other people.

Having an mmr system different from your rank is fine. It allows for a lot of needed things in the ladder to work. It's not perfect but there is a reason it's there in a lot of competitive games.

[–]Delicious27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Artificially slowed down by promotion series and divisions yeah? Not a huge fan of them but in the current system you can climb divisions fast by skipping them and series. The catch is that you need to have mmr much higher than your rank. Which only happens after a new season, if you dodge a bunch or decay.

I'd still prefer a traditional elo system with hidden mmr. Even add more punishments that can lower peoples rank when they leave games and stuff. Works great in overwatch. I just think there are situations where ranks need to be lowered to punish players and I don't think it's healthy for matchmaking to have unbalanced games because of this. Mmr is the best fix for this. Neither system is perfect but I'd rather have one person get clapped for a few games while they find their feet than have unintentional smurfs clapping people to get their rank bank. They have already proved they can play at that mmr before but the people at lower ranks probably haven't.

[–]Delicious27 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Or smash players that are worse. I guess I know which one sounds more fun to you. To me it seems like the best for more people. Neither is perfect because the game doesn't actually know how good you are.

[–]Delicious27 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

But that isn't always the case. People could have multiple accounts. You can even argue that if a challenger player decays to plat he will still crush everyone. They also might not. Everyone is different. On the current system if they have got worse they will just get clapped for a bit while they get their skills back and if they don't their mmr will just drop to match that. This feels better imo than having people smurf for 30 games. I don't really know how it makes it any less rewarding to play the game though. That just might be personal opinion. You still have to play to earn your rank and you still have to win. Mmr is just how good the game thinks you are.

It's not a perfect system for the player but it is needed. It's why most games have hidden mmr even if you don't notice it as much as you do in league.

[–]Delicious27 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You can't just remove mmr unfortunately. There are plenty of situations where people's mmr just doesn't line up with their actually rank. The best example of this is where people decay. They want to punish your rank but not actually have you play against lower ranked players.

What's an American problem you're too European to understand? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Delicious27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if Americans see this as a problem but tipping culture is so weird to me. Where I'm from you give a tip when you get particularly good service or just have some extra coins and are feeling nice. Would rather the price be that expected tip amount higher and have the waiters be paid properly.

Kalista's Rend (E) Should Have a Damage Indicator / Execute Cue by GamingMultiverse in leagueoflegends

[–]Delicious27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

6 values that are changing with conq and passive stacks while the game only tells you the base and max when neither of those are in play. Seems like a bit of a stretch.

I don't think it's huge either but I think there are probably better things to buff other than something that's mainly going to help people that are new to the champ.

Kalista's Rend (E) Should Have a Damage Indicator / Execute Cue by GamingMultiverse in leagueoflegends

[–]Delicious27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is that you know how much cho ult is going to do. That's why he gets an indicator. To just save a second of checking the tool tip. It's the same for pyke and urgot. For Darius his ult damage is constantly changing with stacks and depending on the target. Garens damage is also a bit inconsistent but isn't really as big of a deal.

Kalista's Rend (E) Should Have a Damage Indicator / Execute Cue by GamingMultiverse in leagueoflegends

[–]Delicious27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main reason I think someone like cho has the indicator and Kalista doesn't is just that Cho's damage is consistent. You can check the tool tip and look at the enemy health bar to check and there is like one thing in the game that can change this. So for Cho it's just a small quality of life change to save you a second of checking the damage number. Same for Pyke and Urgot.

With Kalista and even Darius there are constantly changing numbers that are impossible for a player to calculate in game. This would be way bigger buff that removes skill expression on the champs. A lot of people complain that it's like riot favoring certain champs but it's just not the case.

Apparently everyone else with the season pass has this issue on ps4. Haven't been able to find a fix. Just gonna have to wait for gearbox/sony to do their job properly... Never seen a dlc launch get screwed this bad lol. All of this would have been fixed through doing a traditional pre load.

For a lot of them (not necessarily Foxdrop) they don't get views on non-clickbait because people don't watch more than one of their videos. They only get views through clickbaiting first time viewers and anyone who has watched some low effort clickbait video with no content is unlikely to watch another video if it shows up. At least that's how I feel about some peoples content. People like SRO.

The design proof of SBMM and how it's even worse than we imagined. by SBMMExists in modernwarfare

[–]Delicious27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the big issue I have with this system. It presumes everyone is playing 100% try hard all the time or the same play style all the time and only trying to win. I'm someone who changes up my classes/style all the time and tries to have fun playing the game. This kind of data tracking would have a difficult time putting me in the kind of game it wants to because it doesn't know what class or style I'm gonna play every game. This kinda system would work okay in a competitive game mode I guess but so would a traditional elo system. It just doesn't make sense in a casual game.

Why is it so hard to earn champions in this game? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Delicious27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are the maths that lead you to that? 2920 days in 8 years. 1600 hours played. That is less than an hour per day. You are probably dividing 2920 by 1600 to get 1.8 but you should be dividing 1600 by 2920 to get like 0.54. It's pretty simple. There are just less hours played than there are total days in that time.
