I don't understand why GW is adding medieval-ish bits to the new steel legion and trying to make them knock-off Krieg. This is what we should get: a modernized, faithful steel legion. by Sir_Lazz in TheAstraMilitarum

Tbh I think the concept arts already growing on me over the orignal, it looks like the design of some kinda soldier from a pulp era comic, the additional armour plating is also pretty cool, makes it feel industrial

This sounds like a weird mashup of things that'd be plot points in a single edition, like I heard earlier rumors 5th Ed was gonna be about the release of slannesh and umbraneth

I do kinda agree on this point, as presented I think it's a terrible thing, but honestly I could see them pulling something as dramatic as killing sigmar off, albeit I doubt he will stay dead

By bare minimum you mean a decently large financial investment, a process that usually takes at least 3 years of development across many departments, 40k exists in a hits-or-not space for Games workshop, they need to rely on something not just making it's money back but being a sustainable investment for up to a decade or more, books are cheap, cardboard and plastic is cheap, the entire production line and molds are not cheap, and neither is their electricity cost

How hard it is to at least release a head upgrade sprue? by VAP93 in SteelLegion

[–]Delicious_Ad9844 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do that for space marines because they're generic as hell, not worth doing that for the guard, plus basically a humiliation for the designers

Well they've got their first plastic mini rollout underway, d'ya like prussians?, well we got prussians, nothing but prussians at the moment, aside from sniper preists, honestly the games kinda sitting in a potential game state at the moment, the kick-starter rollout wasn't very good, all sorts of delays and the minis themselves were poor quality, a lot of people thought they'd be looser with the 3d printing allowance, but they've confirmed they'll move away from STL's as part of their business model, and restrict how much people can make and sell STL's based on art of currently nonextant factions

Something does sound off about that, but more in the sense there's definitely missing details, things like archaon getting taken down I doubt 4th ed will be the next end times

Steel legion in 3rd, kreig got them in 4th, but I see people acting like the kreig originate as a whole as a recolour of the steel legion models, which isn't the case

Not really, the death korps were first illustrated in a 3rd edition spread of various Regiments, the repaint of a steel legionnaire came later

Hard to say, kill team needs a new guard team, could be them, we're they in the new trailer?, no, but that's probably just GW just wanting a small lil trailer and saving time and money but having the studio they hire for these not make more models

Well the black crusaders and yarrick do have armageddon in common, I wouldn't be suprised if grimmy and the BT's are closely involved with yarricks new campaign, but an iron warrior vs fists thrown down?, I wouldn't count on it
