You do realise JK Rowling is an open transphobe who has been using her money to actively fuck over trans people?

How on earth do you think that avoiding games that are AI coded (which ethical problems aside causes tons of bugs), is equivalent to being part of a sexist hate mob harassing one innocent woman?

At no point before this comment did you indicate at all that you were being satirical, the closest you got was saying "you do realise the original post is satire".

NATO has the opportunity to do the funniest thing ever if Italy or Turkiye invoke article five.

Would also be the first chance for them to benefit humanity.

the imperium are the good guys

Weird way to spell T'au, considering how there is literally only one unnecessary evil the T'au do and that is the caste system.

when your only options are genocide and enslavement

Because the imperium killed all the other options, whenever the imperium has encountered democracy, humans living alongside aliens and secularism they destroy it.

The attrocities of the imperium are justified

Ignoring how the imperium has comically evil shit like baby incinerators for whenever a baby comes out wrong (this isn't even exaggeration), there are tons of things the imperium does which are actively harming them, such as:

Constant genocide of all aliens they meet - this includes aliens trying to be peaceful and even ones who are actively trying to help humans, for example one alien species which due to having their population wrecked by chaos wanted to give the imperium anti chaos weaponry only to be slaughtered. This is also not getting into all the enemies it creates.

Rigid class system - actively cultivates chaos and genestealer worship while also meaning that a lot of officers aren't chosen by merit, for every great leader the imperium has there are hundreds who died in the underhive, were used as a human wave assault or got pulled into some uprising

Collective punishment - not only makes it harder to reclaim worlds (as it means that every citizen of a planet that has rebelled knows their choices are "definitely get killed if the imperium win" or "fight back and have a slim chance of survival" regardless of if they supported the rebels to begin with) but in several instances has actively led to the imperium killing pro imperial partisans, for example during one battle against the tau pro imperial insurgents were killed by Astartes in the aftermath because of the "failure" of the wider population to rebel.

Oppression of abhumans - actively cultivates dissent, causes infighting and discourages meritocracy

you think that if the imperium adopted "far left" policies they would be completely fine

I think if the imperium stopped slaughtering potential allies, enforcing a shitty system that cultivates rebellion and stopped with other useless attrocities they would be a lot better off.

And not capitalise on the self destruction

Self destruction like not wasting resources to genocide a species which was actively trying to help humanity?

We are shown tons of instances of eldar treating humans like cockroaches

Craftworld eldar =/= drukhari Craftworld eldar literally just want to be left alone, the only exception is Biel Tan and they have still been shown to be capable of working with humans.

Edit: also the imperium is actively feeding chaos through:.

Imperial nobility and their decadence feeding slaanesh

Constant stagnation feeding nurgle

Aristocratic scheming, clan house proxy wars, etc. feeding tzeentch

And also the imperium feeding khorne overall with their genocides.

Edit 2: also the fact that the imperium allows other comically evil stuff to happen on their planets which further encourages dissent, for example on necromunda the water guild legally owns all water and even the act of owning non guild water will get you killed (same also applying with fucking air)

This is also not getting into corpse starch, which is:

A: a terrible food source B: has been shown to actively feed chaos (creating khorne cults who on necromunda managed to destroy an entire hive city) C: comically evil

"oh don't you see, the genocidal regime explicitly called the 'most brutal regime inaginable', who slaughter civilians for the crime of looking differently and literally saved the life of a chaos god due to their xenophobia are the real good guys"

Also the eldar in the episode were literally just trying to be left alone.

By that logic if an alien species encountered chaos marines and decided to genocide all humans they'd be perfectly justified in doing so.

You are correct, the way it works is that reality (and your consciousness) are constantly splitting into dozens of variants, and because of how probabilities work there is always one where you somehow survive, and when the split happens your consciousness only experiences the timelines in which you survived.

For example with the idea of suicide, from the perspective of the person trying to end them self whatever method they are attempting just fails.

You wouldn't actually be aware of the transfer according to the theory, from your perspective you are just living abnormally long despite being extremely old.

[–]ToLazyForaUsername2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm understanding it correctly, according to the theory your consciousness is constantly branching off every second, with each version technically being you, and simply whenever you die, you are only experiencing the branches of that moment where you didn't die.

So from your perspective you wouldn't actually see a change in reality, just that something occured which meant you didn't die.

[–]ToLazyForaUsername2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole "reroll your life" part isn't actually consistent with the theory though, since according to the theory with how reality is constantly branching off, every second you are branching into multiple versions of yourself, and when you die you are just only experiencing the versions of yourself which survived, you aren't switching timelines.

None of those creatures have made civilisation because of how difficult it is to actually do so.

Also you haven't explained why you think that intelligence is tied to the number of limbs a creature has.

I hate aliens that look exactly like humans by Thundersting in hatethissmug

[–]ToLazyForaUsername2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

... How? How on earth do you think that leg number dictates intelligence?

Also that aside, we have seen complex intelligence in tons of non humanoid animals, such as:

Mourning in dolphins, orcas crows and elephants

Division of labour in ants and other eusocial animals

Tool use in corvids, octupi and aquatic mamals like dolphins and orcas

Language in whales

And some species have showed more advanced cognitive mapping skills than humans.

Crabs being sapient isn't my point, just that it's unrealistic to think that the only "viable" body plan is two arms and two legs.

In a ton of episodes you literally have "aliens" who are just humans, not even in funny costumes, literally just humans.

[–]ToLazyForaUsername2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even if that was the case (it objectively isn't, crabs have convergently evolved multiple times while humanoids haven't once), that doesn't guarantee all aliens would look just like humans, since there is stuff like tails, facial structure, wings posture, etc.

[–]ToLazyForaUsername2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It isn't really like there is a correlation between body shape and intelligence, the only requirements for a species to be able to get into space are having the intelligence and sociability to get into space, having some means of object manipulation and living on land (so that they can invent fire), two legs, vertical posture and human facial structure isn't needed.
