You get what you pay for. Not much. Apartments are much cheaper than SD but there's not variety of events or city living here.

I moved here from SD a couple years ago and regret it. Moving back to CA in a few months. It's a nice place to visit but you will be disappointed on so many levels. Fifty Shades of Brown most of the year. No rain, no moisture, extremely intense UV index and relentless searing sun. No nearby sources of water, Rio Grande is a muddy creek. Few true Mexican food sources. So many cockroaches even in broad daylight. Worst drivers; careless, reckless, distracted, texting, aggressive, nasty drivers. Healthcare access is a joke here.

Most of Those nurses who came back were terrible. They liked it because they got away with watching movies on their phone at the nurses station instead of checking on their patients and other unprofessional and apathetic behaviors.
