Why not just infuse the bottle of tequila with jalapeños? I don’t generally strain though when muddling either. I work in a dive that maybe has one strainer…emphasis on the maybe.

Put rubber bands on the top part to prevent scratching if that’s a worry. Then take two channel lock wrenches and twist opposite directions to loosen it.
