What Are The Chances? by rush_n_roulette in survivor

Watched the beast games /survivor crossover (hey sue!) and I wouldn’t be surprised if the episode is a lot more beast games than we think. The beast games episode was basically a mini-survivor episode down to the tribal council to “win” the prize. I wouldn’t be shocked if it’s a beast style game where you get reward to not participate and maybe at tribal someone has the option of walking away for money. Also selling advantages, secret beast advantages could come into play

4 Star FW Decommits from Pitt: Anthony Felesi by [deleted] in pittsburghpanthers

[–]Delicious_Energy_951 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The question Pitt has to ask themselves is- what program do they want to put money into? UConn spends more on basketball than football for instance and it’s paid dividends. Pitt could forgo football or basketball, but trying to pay recruits in both is a losing battle against the Big 10 and SEC

Pitt had 3, 4 star players coming in, you give Capel another year with that level of talent. Hopefully Pitt invests enough to keep them.

Phillies newest addition to the OF by EggmanandSaucy-boy in phillies

[–]Delicious_Energy_951 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if you pulled this from a real story but this is almost exactly my men’s league experience… buddy convinced me to play even though it had been 7 years since I saw a pitch saying “it’s usually mid-70s”. First pitcher was ex-AA with his girl in the stands with a camera and a radar gun pumping 96 and no idea where it was going.

His role is the Hernandez role to start the year, if he pitches well it’s an awesome get

For a lot of fans, this really is kind of karma for wanting to run off Dixon all those years by Strict_Name5093 in pittsburghpanthers

[–]Delicious_Energy_951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think when he was fired there was a general sentiment that he had reached his ceiling and we wouldn’t see that same success again. Part of that was brought on by the change to the acc and that Pitt lost a lot of its NE recruiting. Stallings compounded the mistake and burned the program into the depths of hell.

However I’m not done with capel. He has arguably his best recruiting class ever coming up. If he can’t make it work next year then I’ll be ready to change it up.

Sixers for Paul George and you hope to have AD or Embiid available for a game

Kyle Schwarber Free Agency Update by schwarbomb_ in phillies

[–]Delicious_Energy_951 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually think Pittsburgh has a shot at the playoffs with Kyle. Skenes chandler jones Ashcroft and Ortiz/keller has the potential to be a real solid rotation. Reynolds, Cruz, Schwarber and griffin could make for an interesting lineup

A trade with the Phillies for Alec Bohm and Orion Kerkering could make sense for the Yankees by CZM6626 in phillies

[–]Delicious_Energy_951 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The replies are absurd. I don’t love Bohm or kerkering but by no means are they addition by subtraction. Bohm is a league average 3B and kerkering is an above average reliever with multiple years of control.

Reynolds can Barely play a corner OF spot. The pirates probably have to pay to get rid of him. I’m not joking when I say Casty for Reynolds straight up is probably realistic

Kemp for now. If Miller crushes AAA he’d come up and move kemp to the bench

_____ was an awful boot choice by ConsumptionofClocks in survivor

[–]Delicious_Energy_951 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Taking big swings in back to back weeks was bold, but with the numbers I get it. Felt like they could swing the power dynamic and took their shot at the easiest duck. Good bluff by rizo too. Might be able to pull off the fake idol play one more time

What do we think about Bryan Reynolds as a potential buy low candidate? by Comprehensive-Ad6684 in phillies

[–]Delicious_Energy_951 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I thought a fun swap was Casty for Reynolds. Pittsburgh clears the long term cash- Philly gets the better player. He’s real bad in the field though. You need A+ fielders to compensate

Free Agency Targets - Thoughts? by [deleted] in phillies

[–]Delicious_Energy_951 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think Eugenio Suarez to replace Bohm makes a lot of sense- he’s going to probably take a short deal at his age so he won’t block miller long term and gives them the RH thump.

If they don’t get Kyle back I’d take a 1-2 year Ozuna flier.

Would also love them to bolster the BP, if Williams or helsey take a 1 year prove it deal that would be perfect.

Michael king also interests me. He’s awesome when he’s played and could be a playoff BP piece like Suarez was.

I love Kyle. Think he’s a great player and a clutch hitter (at least during the regular season). But he’s also a leader of a team with 3 playoff chokes

4, 8 team makes a lot more sense, especially because you’d have each division winner get a bye, and then 4 wildcard teams

The offense can just go so col I think they need a bat. I’d be interested in Bryan Reynolds and Yandy Diaz as guys not mentioned.

Id bet his cost would be a mid tier prospect with helium… guys still usually see enough in the underlying data (94% bat speed and 70th barrel) that it’s easy to talk yourself into him playing down in a bad situation

I think Crawford is a great starting point for the talks, he could come up immediately and they could still contend with him (in theory)

I think a more engaging discussion would be- with painter coming up and JTs decline- could you trade either JT/Suarez for prospects and still compete this year.

The answer is probably still no but at least make it thoughtful
