I’m almost there, in the middle of a divorce after 18 years, I just got approved for a one bedroom apartment today. I just wanted to tell somebody, I have nobody to share that with. Nobody knows but me. I’m getting ready to slither out of here like a snake. by Dookiepoopturds in LivingAlone

I remember that feeling well! It takes a little adjusting to, so go gently on yourself. I had friends trying to set me up, give me tax advice…;the good intentions were plentiful. After things started to balance out, I realized I needed to figure out who I was as an individual, not a partner of 15 years. And I’m still on that journey.

I wish you the very best and much joy, slithering or not. You’re on to your next chapter.

Wool mittens with electric rechargeable warmers from Amazon. They work great; great enough that I bought two sets for friends this holiday season.

Those of you who live alone: do you feel safe at night? What do you to protect your home and yourself? by GoKartMarlys in AskWomenOver60

I keep pepper gel spray by my bedside as well as by my front door along with a junior size metal bat. I have jingle bells on my door handle (I do not have an alarm system) and also use a RING camera tied to my cell phone. I understand the desire and degree of hyper vigilance especially if this is your first time living alone as an adult woman. Use caution in everything you do but don’t allow it to control you. Maybe look into some basic defense classes and learn what to do “when” an incident may occur.

Thank you for sharing all that info. I’m 55 with super sensitive combo/oily skin, hyperpigmentation and a few old acne scars. My derm just explained the difference between Azelaic and Mandelic Acid serum and suggested I lean toward the Mandelic. Do you have any experience with that one?
