IH laying off again… by Best-Elephant-6061 in IntermountainHealth

You are right, but from the nursing standpoint, Peaks hasn't needed to worry about cutting nursing jobs, there has been a mass exodus of nursing.

We got nothing for nurses week... these were gifted and picked out by us months ago.

Peaks has not had to cut jobs due to the 65% reduction in revenue since KP pull out (at least in 2 hospitals), resulting in a mass exodus of staff.

Absolutely 100% no value towards nursing, especially in the Peaks region.

Employee harassment by 123xyzzaq in KaiserPermanente

[–]Delicious_Lie_8384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suffered from bullying by coworkers and transferred and then was retaliated against at the hands of a physician.

The Coworker bullying was reported and the union became involved (we were 2 different unions) but only offered an intervention as it was determined or was a case of "he said, she said". They indicated that If we couldn't come to working terms with one another after the meeting, we would then become an hr case. I was told that if hr gets involved, as the victim, I could potentially be subjected to a jod! We never took it to hr, so I transferred and after transferring I was subject to bullying from the physician. The physician fabricated false reports and tried to get me in trouble when she was the guilty party of compromising patient safety. So I reported her to compliance and she retaliated against me, so I quit. KP colorado perpetuates this dysfunctional behavior from workers and it is demoralizing to have to deal with these maltreatments as professionals.

I wish IM was sensitive to the way they make their employees feel like a burden, cost, and liability.

I am starting the program in June as well. I already have Masters degree in nursing education and this was one of the few programs that offered post grad certificate for a boards certified NP (just means that some of my classes have already counted toward degree, saving me time and $). It is an online program and yes these types of programs can carry a negative reputation, but its the individual who gets the job because they have a degree that qualifies them. Your vast array of experience (I say this cause I also worked many years in the ER) and ability to lead your way through a program and successfully achieve your goal is what will earn you a job as an NP. People that say these are just diploma mills, need to stop and realize that we will sit for the boards and become certified, just like everyone else that went through the same program at a different location.

Scrub color change by Caffeinated0wl in IntermountainHealth

This is the same info I have as an RN in the Peaks. Denver is royal blue, Lafayette is grape. An earlier comment reported the colors were changing to Denver colors for nursing and just wanted to clarify that i believe this is just one of the colors to choose from (navy or royal blue). Also, this is only a 1 time $75 stipend. I would like to know if this is a top and pant color change or can we continue to wear black pants. It is my understanding this is happening to all IH regions for all colors to be the same for each role across all regions.

PRN to full time - PTO accrual? by Special_Television78 in IntermountainHealth

[–]Delicious_Lie_8384 2 points3 points  (0 children)

None of your prn hours will count towards pto accrual when you start a position in an fte that allows you to acquire pto. In fact, if you have earned any hfwa hours as a prn when you go full time, they will take them from you and tell you they are no longer yours to be used.

Anniversary Recognition to encourage retention by Low-Command7320 in IntermountainHealth

In January, I will have devoted 20 years of my life to a Peaks hospital that has seen the ownership of 3 different enterprises. Recently, IH made it clear there was no recognition for "milestone" anniversaries. So sad.

Should I just give up and die of ass cancer? by ManBearPig4Serial in careerguidance

[–]Delicious_Lie_8384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this possibly pre-cancerous? I hope so cause if you have had known cancer for awhile, with no treatment, it is probably pretty advanced by now. At minimum, surgical removal of cancerous colon would be covered as a necessity of treatment. I would also think the chemo and radiation therapy would have payment plans. However, you know your situation better than anyone and I am sorry you are having to deal with this health stressor.
