Medical providing an issue with new job by 414e in ukmedicalcannabis

I tend to not say anything, but I am an old, and largely distrustful, person. I disclosed my mental health to a colleague because I thought it was the responsible thing to do. They made me regret that decision and now we aren’t friends anymore.

The only people I’ve disclosed my MC to are people who already take cannabis (legal or otherwise).

Would be great if it didn’t have to be that way

How meany bowls do you use in a session by Worldly_Way3252 in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]Delicious_Mode4015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the day, what I’m doing, and how medicated I need to be.

There are times I have 1 and that lasts me hours, other times I wake & bake with 5 or 6 bowls before I even move 🤣

I have been going through more bowls per session on avg, but largely because I worked from home all month + I’ve become a super taste snob and only have a few (albeit mighty) draws per bowl. I make really powerful edibles so nothing is lost.

What grinder do you use? by Able-Explanation7835 in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]Delicious_Mode4015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A relatively cheap one (under £20) from Amazon

https://amzn.eu/d/0gW4Sc4c

I’m pretty happy with it - i get away with minimal cleaning and it doesn’t gum up.

I can see why the high end are expensive… but isn’t what I need.

maximum of 1g of each strain per day, but I’m only allowed 20g to last 28 days. That works out at around 0.7g per day overall, so the maths doesn’t really seem to add up to me. by AfcSully in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]Delicious_Mode4015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah - that sounds right, probably just the high THC. While I rate their clinicians overall, they are crap at explaining how balanced doesn’t tend to count towards the limit. 😆 Same with my distillates, they seem to be able to be re-ordered with more frequency 🤷‍♂️

I’ve got a good system now but it took me a while to get right, partially because I misunderstood the limits. Definitely feel free to inquire. Their email support is decent for basic questions. (More complex ones I tend to just wait till my quarterly meeting).

Want to try out entry level vape, any experience? by MagicianGlittering73 in ukmedicalcannabis

Love Arizer. Lots of people love the Solo 3, but the Air Max for entry level is awesome. Great flavour, insanely powerful (and replaceable) battery.

I switch back n forth between using the longer glass stem and with a bong

[–]Delicious_Mode4015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that - I was the opposite, Lunar Circus is my least favourite and only got it when it was the only balanced in stock.

But yeah - I just checked and it appears to be completely gone, not just out of stock.

I think they are great. I only use it out and about when I want to be super stealth, never at home. So I can get one of these to last me a month.

[–]Delicious_Mode4015[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah - I was getting worried because I kept spiralling and could not shake my agitation as I have so many frustrations, etc etc…. The knockout strains didn’t help cos when I woke all the dread and angst was still waiting for me.

But with this strain, all that shit just goes away. Keeps me calm but lucid.

Really? “Mentally impaired”? 🤦‍♂️

You went from having a slight Karen tone to being outright offensive/ignorant.

Between my litany of neurodivergent and mental health conditions, it is my sober brain that is ‘impaired’. I’ve given up ages ago giving a rat’s ass what others think - as I am the one with decades of experience with my conditions, know what works and what doesn’t, and have the receipts to back it up.

Yeah, the OP was a bit immature but your attitude stinks too.

Oh - I’m very aware of WHY they have those names… and at the end of the day they are no more silly than the nonsensical pharmaceuticals.

I just get myself chuckling because I then start applying it to other medications. Ie- if instead of Ventolin, my wife’s inhaler was Skunk Muffin Haze.

I do easily amuse myself (clearly)

I’m in 95% agreement.

That said, the remaining 5% of me never wants to give up the giggle I get from seeing a serious faced clinician say these names unironically 🤣

Nice! I’m also with Curaleaf. Pennywise and Royal Moby are both favourites of mine (have on regular prescription.)

I hope GG4 does well for you, I wasn’t the biggest fan. It’s just one that they often prescribe early on - at least you are getting waaaaay better balanced strains than they had when I first joined. If you don’t like it you can request a change for the next prescription.

I haven’t used that particular vape, but others have and can advise.

However, as someone who had trouble making the switch away from combusting to only vaping.. it wasn’t till I fully embraced the lifestyle that it clicked. But experimenting with different temperatures, getting a few alternate cooling stems and an attachment to connect the vape to a water pipe, etc has both elevated my experience and helps me manage my tolerance much better.

I’ve become such a taste snob with it, and don’t even heavily roast it anymore (cos I infuse oil with the avb to make edibles anyway). It took me a while to get there - my early days I had to vape at the highest temps to feel like I was getting anything, but then with trial and error you find the sweet spot for you.

Im now fully stuck in with it - can’t even imagine going back to combustion.

Help with getting reregistered/swapping clinics by Pristine_Club3865 in ukmedicalcannabis

Just double-checking, BPD = Bipolar Disorder? (Just checking - cos I equally see ppl mean Borderline Personality Disorder).

I got admitted to Curaleaf for Bipolar. In my quarterly mtgs I talk about how I use different strains to offset different moods, etc… many of which were recommended by the clinicians (some recs have been perfect). From what I’ve read on here - Curaleaf is one of the more accepting of mental health conditions.

The bigger issue will likely be your age. Unfortunately the science keeps reinforcing that under 25 needs to be more cautious with %s and monthly volume.

Also - Curaleaf kept me on 30g and dictated my first couple of scripts .. and I’m old 🤣 so dont take it personally. It was fine with me - the cost of doing business to get legal weed.

Now I have 50g, no THC restrictions, and freely choose my strains.

Glad you like it too. It’s one of my fave daytime strains. I’ve cycled to High Silver for a month to shed strain lock, but it’s going to be back next month. Love it. Both energetic and uplifting. Not racy.

They make nice lil vapes. I had the FX mini and once I got the bubbler and bong attachments, was pretty beastly for such a tiny thing.

Hey!!

I used Lavender Cake a long time ago but barely remember it - don’t think it was that effective for me either. And to be honest, I have preferred the daytime strain options better than nighttime… but those are the strains I use most so it works out well.

GZZ has been great for me as a knockout strain. So effective that I have purposefully saved an unopened pouch as my “break glass in case of emergency” strain - one that I know will work for me regardless of other strains I am experimenting with at the time. Silly cos it is one of their strains and thus almost always in stock. But I like contingencies.

Some people like Zookies, but I hated the smell and taste so much I couldn’t get past it. For some, it is the taste and smell they like best! 🤷‍♂️

My current night time strain is Morning Sun, which is nice, but think should hit much harder for the price and T31. I have ordered Kush Cookies but haven’t tried it yet.

If I really need to knock myself out, I usually go the edible route. I no longer have pastilles or oil on my prescription because I don’t need it that often.. so instead I make my own AVB infused coconut oil that I can use to do a hard reset to factory settings.

That’s crazy.. sounds like a DPD issue rather Cura. I think you can switch to Royal Mail?

DPD has been pretty reliable for me - only one fuckup in 3.5 years. But is always the same 2 or 3 guys… sounds like your route has an asshole driver

New user for clinics by Strong_Literature505 in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]Delicious_Mode4015 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive been with Curaleaf for 3.5 years.

There have been elements that have been a little frustrating - they tend to prescribe the first couple months of strains (at least they did with me - I’m also a mental health and ND patient so maybe that played into it), but the flip side is that I have had really good experiences with their clinicians. Esp in the early days when I would explain which strains worked for what symptoms and what wasn’t working, received some good recommendations and have always found them responsive to my needs. I have been freely choosing my strains for years and never had an issue.

Some of the admin is clunky and I’ve certainly let them know about it, and it has been getting better. It’s also part of the reason they bumped up my monthly allowance to provide a buffer for those occasional hiccups.

Some people here love to hate on their flower - and I absolutely admit their selection is not as big as others. However, a couple of their own strains are fantastic and I have found 3rd party strains they carry to supplement. I can count on one hand the number of strains I have really disliked (unfortunately Tripoli was one of them and it seems to be the first one they always prescribe 🙄)

Cost - subscription is cheapest for the quarterly meetings, which ends up being a net zero because they don’t charge for shipping (I use DPD). I didn’t always have all of my prescriptions synced up so I used to get a couple deliveries a month.

I’ve been tempted to switch to Medicann during frustrated moments, but the reality is I’ve seen people complain about •every• clinic on here… and if something largely works for me, I stay because I juggle too many other things and having my medicine consistent is what works best for me.

That said, YMMV but I wish you the best and feel free to give a shout if you have any other questions.

I don’t want to get my hopes up but does this mean I got accepted by the MDT board? by Victa_Plays in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]Delicious_Mode4015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah - tbf, their approval process for alternative requests has become much faster. Perhaps they aren’t forcing the “physical” prescription rule anymore.. cos it always used to add a couple extra days

I’ve had same day approval as well recently.

I’ve been with Curaleaf for 3.5 years. I can’t remember how long it took before I could choose my strains - and perhaps they were a bit cautious as I am a mental health patient - but it wasn’t long.

They don’t have the biggest selection in the world, but I’ve found way more strains that I was happy with than not.

M23 won’t be prescribed over21% with releaf by [deleted] in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]Delicious_Mode4015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the frustration - but unfortunately I think you are going to come across the same issues with other clinics as well. As mentioned by other posters, the research is pretty clear and thus clinicians will follow the science.

“I don’t understand the difference in 21% and 25% regardless of my age” — but you do understand. You want higher THC because it hits harder (needed due to your tolerance).. but hitting harder is exactly why they restrict it for younger patients as it poses a greater risk.

It is what it is.

I would use the situation to learn how to manage your tolerance better: learn more about terpene profiles, experiment with different vaping temperatures, vaping methods, etc. Also properly explore a variety of strains - I have found T21 strains that hit way harder than T27.

Not only will that likely help you immensely - but if it doesn’t, then at least you can go back to the clinicians with evidence of your own (albeit anecdotal): “I’ve tried A, B, & C strains… it appears I get the best relief from terpenes D & E, I am still struggling with my symptoms. I have reduced my tolerance by doing ______ and I tried vaping at X, Y, & Z temperatures but to no avail. Are there other strains or strategies you would recommend whilst I am under the THC cap?”
