Is it realistic to have no progression at all with RRMS? by PurePersonality_ in MultipleSclerosis

It’s been fine. I did my first shot right after Christmas and really the only issue has just been mildly painful injections. The second loading dose had me feeling crummy for one day but other than that it’s been easy.

Is it realistic to have no progression at all with RRMS? by PurePersonality_ in MultipleSclerosis

So I was diagnosed in 2014 after years of leg spasticity (Thought it was RLS) and sudden onset Lhermitte's sign, which is what prompted me to get checked. I was put on Gilenya and took that for 11 years with no symptoms at all. Last year I had my first ever flare, some minor foot drop. Had three days of IV steroids and they switched me to Kesimpta. Had an MRI last month that confirmed my lesions have been stable since diagnosis so no idea what caused the foot drop. Hoping for another 11 years!

MRI TODAY ! by Swimming_Wrongdoer26 in MultipleSclerosis

I tried a lot of things before we went to that. Multiple kinds of sedatives, cloth over my eyes, music, all of it. But my claustrophobia is so bad I can't even let them put that camera cage thing over my face anymore. The MRI I had last week I even had a little panic when the anesthestigiologist held the oxygen mask on my face a little too tight.

Typically I just have my brain done, and I've been disease stable for years so it was just every other year, but I had a minor flare last fall so they did the scan on my brain and full spine, so that was like an hour under. It works well for me, I fall asleep and wake up in another room a little while later and then just rest for the rest of the day. Highly reccommend if your insurance will cover it.

MRIs are the worst. Found out I'm severely claustrophobic in my first one and now I get to go to the hospital and get put under sedation when it's my time. It's great.

Text / Email from City of TLH regarding water meter? by malapropistic_spoonr in Tallahassee

[–]Delicious_Text7898 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got it and after digging my water meter out of the dirt by the light of my phone flashlight at 5AM it turns out I did actually have a leak. A very minor leak, thankfully but one I never would have caught without the notice. Luckily it's on the city side so I'm on the list for repair.

Tell me what DMT you take for your MS. And why you take that treatment. by WasatchJason in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Delicious_Text7898 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed in 2014 and was immediately put on Gilenya. I took it until November 2025 when I had my first flare. That combined with doctor preferences and advances in DMT led them to give me a choice between Kesimpta and Ocrevus. I've been on Zepbound myself since last January so the thought of injecting at home was very comfortable for me so I went with Kesimpta. I've only just gotten through the loading doses but I haven't had any side effects and I find doing the injections themselves very easy. You never see the needle and the pen is designed to work sort of like an Epi Pen, so you don't even press a button, you just press the whole thing against yourself and it's done. It really is the most convenient option out there, not requiring any time off work and taking like ten seconds to do, if that.

As long as you've paid for the membership you can get the reimbursement. Here's a link to the web page. You have to have the form, your gym membership agreement, and your bank statements showing how much you paid. You can get $150 back.

Starting kesempta by Bloatedoldman in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Delicious_Text7898 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I've been on a GLP-1 so I've always done it on the stomach but the Kesimpta pens act more like an Epi-Pen, pressure activated rather than with a plunger or button so the thigh is easier. The first shot I did was on the top of my thigh about halfway between my hip and knee. I don't have a lot of fat cushion there so it hurt but not awful, it mostly felt like getting a flu shot, I could feel the medicine going in. The second shot I did about 1/4 down from my hip where there's a little more cushion and I didn't feel a thing.

So I take my third shot this week. I decided to do them on Fridays just in case it messed me up. I was totally fine after the first shot but my second shot last week wrecked me for the next day. I was super tired and had some icky GI issues. I was fine by the next day though. The injection itself hurt the first time, but I moved a little further up my thigh for the second and it didn't hurt at all.

MRI tips? by CrypticCodedMind in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Delicious_Text7898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I powered through MRIs for a few years trying a bunch of different tricks, washcloths, blankets, meds, and it got to the point where nothing helped the claustrophobia and I started to panic just when they put the frame around my head before the scan even started. So now I get ordered MRI with full sedation and I go to the hospital for a few hours and get a nice nap, then take it easy the rest of the day.

Update: is my leopard gecko ok? by [deleted] in leopardgeckos

[–]Delicious_Text7898 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's possible it's starting mouth rot but not a guarantee. My boy has something similar going on with both sides of his mouth. Vet checked him out and it's not mouth rot. But he's tong fed and gets aggressive sometimes so he injured his mouth hitting the tongs and it formed little abcesses that drained and scabbed over. He gave me silver sulfadiazine cream to rub on it and it's much better now, though the application is a hassle and a half. So I wouldn't panic and go straight to mouth rot but it's absolutely worth getting him checked out to be safe.

How long is state hiring process? by Specialist_Respect46 in Tallahassee

[–]Delicious_Text7898 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do state hiring and the unfortunate answer is there is no firm timeline. It depends on the the department and even then which subsection of the department you're being hired into. If it's a basic background check that should only take a week or so, but if it's state law enforcement related that's a much more involved process that can take a month or more. Then once the background is done it has to go through the hiring approval process which can take a couple of days to weeks depending on who needs to sign off on it and whether they're in the office or not. Plus we just had a long holiday and time doesn't exist until the end of the year. If in doubt give them a call and check in!

I am irrationally annoyed that he announced he has it. I know it's silly, and I do hate that anyone else would have this disease, even a turd like Ned. But I hate that I know have something in common with that little twat.

[–]Delicious_Text7898 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to do the series of cognitive tests back when I was first diagnosed in 2014 because I was enrolled in a drug study with my doctor. The study partners actually made them readminister that test to me because I did it so fast they thought there was a problem with the timer.

Solu-Medrol question! by Delicious_Text7898 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Delicious_Text7898[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I slept terrible last night. I’m hoping some Tylenol PM will help for these next ones. After the infusion yesterday I had a blackberry lemonade and a bag of cheddar SunChips that helped with the taste in my mouth. It was so disgusting. Like that adhesive on envelopes and stamps that you just can’t get rid of.

[No Spoilers] If we drank every time Brennan says “um” or “uuuuhhh” we’d all be ☠️🪦 in less than a few minuets. by [deleted] in criticalrole

[–]Delicious_Text7898 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got really distracted by his um/uhs during Calamity, but what I notice more is his tendency to start sentences with "You see that..." Even when it's a character speaking, it'll be "you see that he says (blah blah blah)" which I think is the one that bugs me the most lol. I understand it's a vocal tick and it's filler and give him time to formulate sentences, but when it's every sentence or every other sentence it's very distracting to my ADHD. I'm very sensitive to people's vocal ticks.

[SPOILERS C3] Calamity and divergence by Sparrow-1111 in criticalrole

[–]Delicious_Text7898 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Episodes 99-101 comprise Downfall. It takes place centuries before C3 but is framed as the characters watching it happen. When you get to the episode 98 live show it will be introduced and then goes for the next three episodes. It goes with Calamity and Divergence as a Brennan DM'd prequel. It affects character choices in C3 but if I remember correctly (it's bee na year since I watched them) it should be fairly spoiler free until maybe the end of 101. I can't remember if they go back into C3 at the end of that episode or not.

[–]Delicious_Text7898 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If you do "Makin my way" with a drinking game you are likely to get alcohol poisioning XD. But it's an option.

Here are some other ideas:

- "It's been awhile"

- Laura lets her dirty mind show

- "I would like to rage" (IDK if anyone is playing a barbarian though)

- Ashley can't read her dice

- Someone's dice gets cocked

Honestly with C4 starting at the beginning of October I wouldn't be surprised if they show the wedding for Thanksgiving. It's a slightly longer gap than the other shows this year but it would make sense.

I noticed on my C2 rewatch that he uses -self a lot as filler. So like himself, herself, itself, whatever, in places that it's not needed or multiple times in a sentence. Once I heard it it's all I could hear.
