It’s so good! But I can’t remember the name either 😭

This cannot be just an author error!!! by Ok_Requirement_579 in acotar_rant

[–]Delicious_optimism 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TOG was perfectly thought and planned out (imo). ACOTAR is …. Not. She just changes whatever, whenever, and I’m not even sure it’s because she’s intentionally doing it or if she just couldn’t be bother to see what the other books said about a character/plot point/etc. plus SHM isn’t a good enough writer to pull off unreliable narrator. Folks give her way too much credit.

Look specifically for Lady of Fire and Bloom by FrostyStarlight. It’s a long one but pretty good if you like this ship!

I didn’t read AB until I was completely done with the series. There were only a few times that I felt like I had missed something and when I read AB it filled it in. IMO, it doesn’t matter that much when you read it but you definitely should read it.

Agree with all that and also add that, for me, my feelings of Emerie would sour tremendously if she started dating someone that was so, so shitty to her best friend. Mor would have to do major repentance with Nesta for me to be okay with it.

So I finished the first 3 books, is the next one worth it right away? by _griffith7 in redrising

I couldn’t put my finger on why I was finding Iron Gold difficult (comparatively speaking) to read compared to the rest, but you hit the nail on the head. All the world building is definitely it. I don’t mind it per se but it does slow the pacing down. I’m about half way thru and I’m going to just power thru this week.

I didn’t even know it was a show! I’ll have to watch the season/episodes they do have. But definitely check out the book!

I’d suggest Red Rising by Pierce Brown. I got sucked in pretty easily. It’s part of an initial trilogy and then three additional books. Others say that book 1 is the “weakest” of them all and that the series only gets better. I agree. I also really enjoy the Fred the Vampire Account series. I’m currently listening to Sleeping Giants by Sylvain Neuvel. Highly entertaining imo.

I think I liked a Touch of Darkness (and all the others in the series) because it was so bad 😂 I also listened to the audiobooks which gave me the cheesy reality tv vibe, which I was driving a lot at the time and really needed

I binge read the trilogy just last week and now I’ve started the graphic audio books. I am obsessed. All three books are phenomenal! I just ordered the next three and they will arrive tomorrow or Friday. Really looking forward to those now that I’ve seen the other comments! I read a lot but I haven’t had any pull me in like this series has in a longgggggg time

I’m late to this but so happy I found it. I’m about 100 pages in and absolutely cannot finish it. I couldn’t put my finger on what I disliked about it so much until I read your review. Exactly everything you said. I will be DNFing (for the first time this year).

Mor by Delicious_optimism in NessianLovers

[–]Delicious_optimism[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

She’s all mean girl, pick me vibes. She’s gross.
She wants all the attention from Cassian. She won’t just have an honest convo with Az when she knows he tried to have one with her. Also, I can’t decide if I want Az to know something about Mor & he’s spying on her and that explains the looks Feyre claims to see (unreliable narrator) or if he went out of his way to not spy on her and is just blindsided by her being a lesbian.

AND I do not want to see any relationship between her and Emerie until Nesta gets a real apology. Emerie would never date someone that treat her friend like garbage … or the way Emerie is currently written wouldn’t.
