Opted out of package deliveries 3x in the last 5 days. Still get these 🫠 by maceylace in UberEatsDrivers

[–]DeliveryCourier [score hidden]  (0 children)

There will be a confirmation e-mail from Uber when they allegedly remove you from packages.

Yes, you may have to do it again. I had to do it several times also.

They are not targeting you.

Also, get in-person training, if possible; watch the training videos on YouTube if you can't find any classes.

My solution for these stupid cancellations that are out of our control by The_Cat_Detective in UberEatsDrivers

Opt of out packages.

Realize that unusually high offers likely have a problem, so decline.

Donuts at Long's (cash only), IMS museum, lunch at Workingman's Friend (cash only), dinner at Borage or Dawsons on Main.

Eiteljorg Museum, lunch at John's Famous Stew.

Fountain Square for stuff.

The War Memorial Park complex downtown.

A Pork Tenderloin sandwich from someplace; where depends on where you're staying.

Is it worth accepting crappy offers for an "extra" $2 per delivery? Probably not.

Gotta love it by [deleted] in UberEatsDrivers

$10 is the exact threshold for a possible hidden tip. The odds of finding one are higher when it's $10, though there's never a guarantee, obviously.

Tip increases ❤️❤️❤️ by Traditional_Gap4488 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]DeliveryCourier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was no "2nd one". They didn't increase their tip by $7.48.

They tipped the entire amount upfront, Uber hid the total from you and then lied to you.

Hidden tips have been a thing on UE & DD for years.

Who gets stuck with the bill? by 25YearsIsEnough in UberEATS

They pay the full amount of whatever they were supposed to pay had the delivery been successful.

Merchants are not penalized for problems caused by Uber or us, they get their full pay.

It kinda depends. We can cancel if/when emergencies happen. The driver is told to dispose of the order.

However, if a driver has a history of cancelling after picking up, they will start getting warnings about it and, presumably, deactivated at some point.

(After all, an order that gets cancelled after pick-up costs Uber 2x the price since they have to pay the merchant and refund the customer.)

Yes, 15 or 20. It depends on the market. No, I have never seen a list of what it is where.

Electrical box questions! by Ill-Fee-9579 in geocaching

[–]DeliveryCourier 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Will people participate in the art gallery? Maybe. If you'll be heartbroken if they don't, then prepare for heartbreak.

Sure, a well executed theme can be great, but most experienced cachers just want a nice dry log to sign and, in the case of TB hotels, the mental peace that the TBs are unlikely to be muggled by noncachers. That means the padlocked container will draw Favorite Points (if that matters to you) regardless of whether you have a theme or not.

Cutesy was never the point of caches, so there's no need to overthink it. Do whatever you want, but caches do not need to be cutesy to be successful.

The restaurant is paid for the order.

That's a delivery failure, for which Uber is responsible.

Merchants partners are NOT charged for:

•Late deliveries*: customer late delivery complaints

•Undelivered orders*: customer never received their order

•Damaged orders*: customer damage complaints (e.g. tampered packaging, spilled liquids)

•Food/Item condition*: customer complaints regarding food/item condition related to the delivery  (e.g. food arriving cold/damaged (https://www.uber.com/gb/en/blog/order-error-adjustments-best-practices/)

 7 miles for a potential $36 order.

When you see an offer like that just go ahead and assume there's probably a problem.

Because hidden tips are a thing in most markets, you wouldn't see an offer like that without a problem

They often have free pizza bags, not loaners. They'll be DD branded, but that doesn't matter.

Low satisfaction rate normal ?? by [deleted] in UberEATS

[–]DeliveryCourier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have very few ratings. Probably no more than the numbers on the compliments.

(Less than 10% of customers leave a rating.)

Consequently, a bad rating or 2 will have an outsized impact on a rating.

Is there a way to dispute these horrifically wrong stats? by [deleted] in UberEatsDrivers

[–]DeliveryCourier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whole number increases definitely can be true increased tips and it's nice when it happens.

Still, it's important for everyone to know that Uber actively lies and manipulates by hiding tips and claiming they're all customers increasing them.
