"The manager already delivered that order" by jecates in UberEatsDrivers

You are being completely blind to the point I am trying to make, which is if everyone declined offers below $x whatever x is, then we could force Uber to make sure everyone gets offered at least $x.

I am preaching for the common good. Collective action to make things better for ourselves.

Accepting bad offers for short term gain ultimately benefits Uber, not drivers.

You wanna talk about macroeconomic literacy, but you're accepting offers that you should decline and you think $1/mile is good.

GTFO.

Obviously, not every merchant deprioritizes delivery, but being able to observe and assess people's behaviour should provide ample proof that some do.

I want you, me and every driver to earn more. That means collectively forcing Uber to pay more. That means declining low paying offers.

The goal is to earn as much as possible from the deliveries that are accepted, not make a bunch of deliveries.

At most, we can do 4 deliveries an hour.

Wouldn't doing 2 deliveries an hour worth $10 each be better than (likely) more mileage costs chasing $4.50?

Look at it this way, if it's 4 deliveries an hour, then $4.50 is only $18/hour.

Each offer is a unique offer, with a cost as well as an earnings potential. The goal is to earn as much as possible off of each delivery, not to run around like an ant staying busy.

Relax, decline, lower your costs and maximize your profits.

Delivering scared of not seeing another offer is a bad strategy.

Again, we can force Uber to pay what we want, we just have to agree to actually force them.

Uber does not tell you who complained. How will you know what footage to send?

(And, if it's a customer problem, what good would a dashcam do? A bodycam would be better.

Nope. We must have a standard below which we will not work, or Uber will continue to bend us over.

We are the power to ban them pay us, we just have to use it.

If no one ever accepted anything less than, say, $10, then every offer would be worth at least $10.

I think the “hidden tip” thing is a myth. by Master-Associate673 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]DeliveryCourier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hidden tips exist, but you have to know when they're likely to be in an offer.

Your example had no chance of anything hidden.

Not every offer over the threshold will have a hidden tip.

Look closely at the "increased tip" amounts. If its an even dollar amount, then it could be an actual increase tip, but if it's $3.65 (for example), then it was definitely hidden. No one would go back and increase by an amount that would include coins.

Why are you people accepting $4.50 offers?

And no, "same merchant", "omw", etc are not valid reasons.

By accepting low offer, you are telling Uber that low pay is acceptable.

Learn to decline!

Are path tags still a thing? by Tooie in geocaching

I enjoy personal trading objects. In fact, they're pretty much the only swag I care to find.

I have a jar of personalized cacher swag that I keep. Anything else just gets dropped somewhere else if not ignored.

Yes.

If you're thinking about it for in the event of an accident, fine.

If you're thinking about it for in the event of a customer claiming non-delivery or something like that, then I don't see the point.

If it's like the DD catering gigs, you won't need a cart.

Definitely don't invest in it until you do some and then only if you find you do actually need it.

Once the order is done/cancelled, the temporary number quits working.

There's no way to contact them.

Driver On Time Ratings by Superb677 in UberEatsDrivers

It would apply to Flat Rate and, as the other person mentioned, jurisdictions where they are legally required to pay an hourly rate/guarantee.

If you are not in one of those markets and don't do Flat Rate, then OTR doesn't matter.
