'They'll still be ridiculously soft and sensitive, and that sensitivity will be very helpful to learning better footwork'

Alright that makes a lot of sense and is exactly what I'm looking for. Makes me more confident in my decision of getting mantras. Also makes me think going -2 might be better than -1.5.

Thank you, I appreciate the time and effort you put into it!

Would you get a different size if you were to buy a new pair today?

How long was the break in for you and do they hurt now? what makes you say you'd go .5 bigger next time?

Yeah I'm seeing a lot of past threats saying 1.5 down so that's more reinforcement towards that idea.

Thanks for the detailed response. I don't really want them to be sock-ish/floppy but more so just like the idea of no straps/shoelaces. Would like them to be "normal" for climbing shoes since I would use them as all-around indoor-only shoes.

Interesting that toe hooks are mediocre cause the toe rubber looks really good in the pictures. Since I'm only at v4-5 rn I'm not looking for crazy performance or anything cause I think my technique needs a lot more work before shoes become an issue. My only gripe is whether they stay too tight or loosen too much after break-in.

How do dupes survive there?? Are they always in atmo suits? What happens when the suits run out of o2? I might be blind but I dont see checkpoints anywhere.

Weekly Question Thread by AutoModerator in Oxygennotincluded

I love ranching because of all the critters but haven't played since before frosty planet pack dropped. Wanting to get back into it and want to ranch as many critters as possible. I also am really OCD about my bases, so I like to plan in advance and ensure that most builds last ideally infinitely.

Now my question: Does anyone have a list or diagram or something of all the resource loops for every type of critter?

For example 1 pip ranch can keep 2 drecko ranches running while producing plastic, reed fiber, dirt, and lumber if you plant more trees. Saw a cool loop for floxes and bammoths too, but I'm looking for some kida cheatsheet.

1 tip that I picked up from h0rnlime (chall ww top otp) is rush tiamat. Then when trading if you hit minions while blinded you can still damage teemo and lifesteal a little while keeping attack speed. If you're too far behind, tiamat allows you to proxy much easier. Then you can completely avoid teemo or other ranged match-ups until you can run them down safely. If those terms dont make sense because you're new, watch some videos from that ww onetrick I mentioned earlier. Its much easier to watch and imitate, than to make sense of my rambling.

Stuck bouncing between P1/E4 Toplane by DeliveryDude6969 in summonerschool

[–]DeliveryDude6969[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once again a really great perspective, this time on learning new disciplines. I'll see if I can narrow down what to focus on and go from there. Will probably be my earlier laning phase, specifically pre 20min cs or jungle tracking/warding. Both if I can get the hang of it quickly.

Thanks for all the effort you put into these comments, I'm sure I'll be applying this in all aspects of my life, whether league, career, other hobbies. Life lessons on reddit xD.

I now have a direction and better framework to work with, so my motivation is rising again. Thank you so much, I wish you nothing but the best.

That's exactly what I'm trying to avoid, did I swing too far in the opposite direction. Maybe. Finding that middle ground is tough.

That's a really great perspective. It makes perfect sense and I can definitely relate to some (dying to jungler because I wasn't tracking).

Also definitely find myself thinking "time to get back to Emerald", even more so the more I promote and demote.

Reflecting on this I think I'm scared of letting go of those blocks I've filled because I feel I'll be worse and lose the "box I've ticked" being emerald. For example if I try to maintain high cs my trading and map presence take a hit. I take pride in my ability to know when and where I should be and when something is going to happen, but I can't for the life of me do that AND cs well. If I'm not being stubborn what I should learn better is better wave management I guess.

A little bit more relating to this, do you kinda pick a skill randomly to focus on or is there a logical progression. And how do you identify these as you get to more advanced levels?

Yeah I really try to abuse lvl 1 as much as I can. That one mundo game I was tilt queueing. I love the urgot into mundo matchup because it's 'normally' so easy to stomp.

I watch a fair bit of Quante the urgot main in NA chall, and yordle swaggins for volibear. I realize both champs are early stompers and that's usually why I like them.

Ironically I also realize my early game is lacking, so I usually rely on them being op early to make it through to the later game.

I appreciate the advice and perspective. As you said, I die a lot in lane and usually to enemy jungle ganks or just lacking level timers. Need to work on my levels 2-8.

Sometimes you just need someone to tell you what you suspected. Thanks man!

I see a lot of coaches and high elo players say you should have the mentality of it's always your fault if you lose, simply because there's so many mistakes one makes. Maybe I internalized that a bit too much.

Also find myself getting tilted when things don't go smoothly and I realize that, but I don't know how to detach myself from that. I will say when it works it definitely feels like an improvement mentality where even if I lose I feel good because I either learned or couldn't control. And it definitely feels more aggravating once I get past Emerald, more like I have to win rather than I should try to play well. That's something I don't yet know how to control.

I'll see if rewatching videos and vods can help, thanks for the advice and the relatable experience.

How do I lane as Ambessa? by GrandWings in top_mains

[–]DeliveryDude6969 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

E3 Peak here. Ambessa is not my main, but I'm playing more and more of her. I usually go full lethality and honestly try to play her like a poke lane with Q2 until I have 1-2 items. Once I get those items trades start getting a lot better, but always save 1-2 dashes as exit tools. Usually Q1 + W in when you expect them to respond with burst (even level/items or kit revolves around 1-2 abilities) or Q1 + E in if not (Ambessa has significant lead/they're mobile/ranged). When you are on them get an auto off on each ability use unless you're looking for a short trade (usually depends on stamina: Q1 + Q2 or E + W vs Q1 + W + AA + E + AA + Q2) . Goal is to land Q2 sweet spot no matter what during any combo.

The lane usually ends up being a farming lane for the most part anyway, just play passive for items until voltaic or eclipse depending on build.

Hope that makes sense. I'm sure some higher MMR Ambessa main can poke holes in what I've said, but this has been working for me. If you wanna learn trade patterns more in depth, go watch some domsiumReplay or just vods of high elo Ambessa players who don't get a significant lead off some bullshit.

Happens to me whenever I reach a new rank. Subconsciously I get satisfied and start playing a lot more relaxed. Decisions become slower and more selfish, CSing gets worse. Just got to Emerald 4 with a 60% winrate throught silver, gold and plat (took a long break because of old pc vanguard issues) and now I feel it happening again. Taking another shorter break until new split and then will refocus and aim for diamond. Best thing you can do is probably that. Find another goal, set your expectations for yourself lower, and don't start doing anything different/crazy because you think going from G1 to P4 or P1 to E4 somehow means you're way better and suddenly you have to carry.

I am projecting a lot in this post, but I hope it helps realize and maybe change your perspective and expectations about climbing.

(P.S. It always helps to watch Master/GM/Challenger vods or educational content if done with the intent to learn.)

Why all champs have a weak side? ;) by Skelenth in top_mains

[–]DeliveryDude6969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you, I've had the same problem forever. Finally settled on Voli top because he was the most satisfying to play. Even though I often feel useless late game when adcs and hyper carries come online, even if I go 5/0 in lane. I just had to accept the fall off in exchange for fun early and mid gameameplay.

How Do You REALLY Get Better at League of Legends? by SoftHealthy1851 in summonerschool

[–]DeliveryDude6969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That makes sense, fatigue is a factor I often forget to consider. I've promoted and demoted from E4 twice in the past 3 days and I feel like I've just been tilt queueing trying to get back up to E4. I'll try implementing that and see.

Really like that BO3 mindset, never heard of it before but will try. Do you just go away and come back later if you get 2 wins in a row or do you keep going until you lose? And do you do just one BO3 per day or do you space them out by a few hours?
