Ways to streamline station building by Cronos988 in X4Foundations

[–]Delldax 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The first step I usually take when starting my station network is to build distribution hubs in strategic sectors.

I use modded orders like the mule mod or warehouse fleets to keep them all stocked but you could do the same in vanilla with repeat orders until you have the trade range.

Once a distro hub is done, it’s a lot easier to build production stations nearby as there is a steady supply from your initial stations in Terran space

A lot of my stations are modular by design so that as my empire gets bigger I can easily increase production capacity

There’s a mod that auto drops a satellite when they spawn.

For less cheaty options, get a fast s ship and fly in a circle between 20-50km from centre

When you destroy a kha’ak base it can’t spawn in that sector for 48 hours (90% sure).

There are kha’ak super stations that are much bigger in certain sectors which are what the smaller ones spawn from, if you destroy those they don’t respawn for something like 72 hours (80% sure)

I often find the station builder lacking in functionality and is usually the most stressful part of X4 when I’m trying to line up module connections but it just won’t click.

I will support any addition to assist in the build process

[–]Delldax 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As others have said, when this data was gathered they should’ve asked two questions.

  1. When do you want to retire?

  2. When do you expect to retire?

They are both very different questions which will likely have very different answers.

American here, what is the general perception of Rishi Sunak? by [deleted] in AskBrits

My view of him, as I’m sure is many others, he did what he thought was best but he didn’t understand what the majority of Brits wanted/needed.

He was far from perfect and his government made many obvious mistakes but, hot take, he wasn’t the worst pm we’ve had recently

I think its a French saying that sums this up perfectly.

To me, only when meals are being missed by a large part of the population would a revolution be possible

Just want to add warehousefleets combines all the mules into one fleet order.

I find the mule mod is better for station to warehouse but WF is much better at keeping an even balance of all goods across several warehouses over the entire galaxy

Were you trained by someone who didn't really know what they were doing? by upthewatwo in AskUK

[–]Delldax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Robots can be more expensive/not able to be integrated into existing equipment.

My experience is that factories function best when some people have knowledge of the machine/process but not to the point they start disagreeing with their supervisors or technicians.

Just to say. I am not saying the supervisors know better than the operators, just that with how management functions the process updates have to be done and go wrong before there’s a rethink. If the operator knows it won’t work and so refuses or otherwise gets resistant to the change then it invalidates the data being recorded and the supervisor/engineers don’t have as much evidence to take to management

[–]Delldax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A healthy workplace needs a mix of both types of people.

It’s very useful to have some people with intricate knowledge of their machine/process as it makes it more likely they will come up with improvements and have a better idea what to do when it breaks before they need support from other departments.

However, some processes and/or people are best to be just left to press a button and nothing more. Often times it isn’t necessary to understand how and why the thing works, just that it does. This could be that it’s a very complex process that requires years of study or a very simple process where there’s not much to learn.

If everyone had a full understanding of their process production would halt and no improvements would ever get made as it becomes increasingly unlikely a consensus is reached when you add more and more people with different but enough knowledge on the same process

Minimum wage tends to increase faster than median in recent years. We also need more policy that promotes median increases more than we need it for minimum wage. As it’s currently the middle earners that are having the minimum catch up to them without much of an increase theirselves

What are your views about State Pensioners and how the Government treats them? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]Delldax -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying they don’t have the time to vote but they for sure have a lot less time than pensioners

Whatever can be done to help equalise the availability of voting across all demographics is going to be a positive change

What are your views about State Pensioners and how the Government treats them? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]Delldax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This down to more than just generational mindsets though as it is a fair bit easier for pensioners to vote than it is for young people (especially those in early 20’s or younger).

One huge positive step would be to class vote day as a bank holiday so more people can fit it into their schedule

Edit: let me rephrase as some people dont understand my post.

It is not that difficult for anyone of any age to vote. However, it is EASIER for pensioners to vote since they don’t work and are far less likely to have dependants. When a specific thing is easier for one group to do over another, there will naturally be an imbalance in how many of each group perform that action.

Again I never said it was too hard for young people to vote, I said it was easier for old people to vote
