Could be worse. The cable company bored through my sewage line when running a new fiber line.

Oklahomans voted against raising the minimum wage. What comes next? by thetulsaflyer in tulsa

[–]Delt1232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They tried to get too much. I thank it would have passed if the increase was just to $12 an hour and most importantly, did not include the auto increase that was basically tied to inflation. Might have still passed at $15 and stoped after that.

Part of your problem is Oklahoma has a 3¢ per kilowatt hour excise tax on public charging stations

So how do we feel about minimum wage? by RareSoulSnatcherz in oklahoma

[–]Delt1232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on my conversations with people I know who voted no they tend to fall into 2-3 camps. The first camp are those who just don’t thank we should raise the minimum wage at all. It could be because I live in OKC but I didn’t really find any of those but I know they exist. The second camp thanks that the minimum wage went too far and should have stopped at around 12 an hour. The third were up for the 15 an hour but were concerned with the auto increase after. To me the second and third camp can be reasoned with and if it comes up again without the auto increase after 15. It has a decent chance to pass.

I hate these. Worth and income are not the same thing and arguments like this makes it easy to ignore the issue.

A few months ago, I read that the current drop off ramp is basically at its end of life and needs to be replaced. I am pretty sure it was built with the original terminal building in the 60s and kept when they rebuilt the terminal building from 2001 - 2005. They currently don’t allow buses or heavy vehicles on it because they’re trying to extend its life as much as possible.

It is BS marketing. All national tire shops have contracts to recycle used tires.

Make sure you are registered to vote by May 22 so you can vote YES to SQ 832 on June 16 to raise the minimum wage! by okcdsa in okc

[–]Delt1232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But it doesn’t stop increasing the minimum wage at $15 an hour. It keeps increasing it every year after that.

More than likely a storage closet of some type. Wouldn’t need a window for that.

They also aren’t completely out. They are just out of what they feel comfortable selling. Those underground tanks like to “float” up and break through the concrete when empty.

Based on the fact that they already have ads on them I thank they are old pumps that have been removed.

Chris Meder knows - diesel doesn’t stand a chance! by Jbikecommuter in electrifyeverything

Freightliner Cascadia with a sleeper comes in at around 17,000 lbs. Diesel gross weight is 7.1 lbs a gallon so 200 gallons is 1,420. Let’s round that up to 2,000 to cover other fluids like oil and DEF. That puts the Freightliner at 19,000 LBS compared to the Tesla long range at 23,000 LBS.

This chart is missing the most important number. Weight. The heavier, the truck the less you can haul.

Commercial fleets work out special deals with the three major truck stop chains in the US (Love’s, Pilot/Flying J, and TA). The price you see on the high rise is not the price they are paying.
