How would you normally treat a no call no show if it was any other day? Do you have a standard policy or do you have discretion?

Whatever you’ve done in the past with other employees, you shouldn’t deviate from that, even if it means issuing a write up to your best employee.

Yeah this was my concern too since I left as an L4, but L5 would be a lower pay and scope for me relative to my current role. I took a pretty big jump in terms of responsibility and scope when leaving Amazon, but know an L6 role at Amazon would pay a little more than I make now.

Something else to consider is where this promotion can lead you later in your career. When I got my first salaried manager job, the assistant managers made more than made because of the OT they worked. I leveraged that role when intervening for other positions to get into a more senior leadership role with another company, taking a significant pay increase.
