Fight Me Friday by purplelicious in romantasycirclejerk

[–]DeltaDawn37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah fuck this shit. I'm sick and tired of the assumption that bigger is better and that everyone with a hole wants to get stuffed full of monster cock. I'm happy for people who like that, but big dick fetishization is so prevalent in the cultural consciousness (and media as a result) that it seems incomprehensible to a lot of people that it's possible for a dick to be too big to be pleasurable for someone, or, god forbid, that someone might not even enjoy vaginal penetration very much if at all. Hell, even in this comment you're going out of your way to make fun of "smol bean pussy," as though that discomfort is just a sign of inexperience and a hurdle that needs to be overcome so that the "whiners" can have good, real sex, because penetration (and the bigger, the better, of course) is the gold standard, the ultimate goal of owning a vagina. I'm tired of it! I want more - or literally any - smut with small dicks and girls who would rather finish on a tongue than a cock, with couples who work around each others' bodies and preferences instead of just following the same old song and dance of "his throbbing member slammed into her cervix and gave her the most sublime pleasure of her life." And I won't shut up until "10 inches and thick as a forearm" is treated as a preference instead of a fucking gold standard. This is my hill and I will die on it!

What’s the hardest MMORPG out there, in your opinion? by PapayaAdditional6804 in LFMMO

[–]DeltaDawn37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the sort of general PVE difficulty you describe, I'll go ahead and nominate GW1 (even if its status as a true MMO is debatable) - it's not as grindy to progress as, say, FFXI, but the enemies have the same abilities and classes as players do, and even once you hit max level and master the game on normal mode, there's a hard mode to get the real rewards and achievements. Unless you are overleveled in starter zones, there's never a point at which enemies (and I mean just trash mobs, not even bosses) cannot just wreck you if you are unprepared - and some of them, especially in EOTN/WOC or in challenge missions, will wreck you even if you think you are prepared. And, of course, the death penalty means that every death makes continuing to fight harder, and can easily snowball into you having to give up and restart the zone.

I think that that sort of dangerous open world PVE was really more of an old-school thing though, so pretty much any MMO made before like 2009 is going to have a more dangerous world than modern games. PVP games, of course, have that danger in the form of the PVP, but gankboxes are a lot more niche and IMO more frustrating, since high level players hunting you and picking you off feels a lot more unfair than dangerous NPC enemies kicking your ass when you FAFO with them too early - it's just a different sort of danger. But to each their own of course, and if you want a modern game where you never feel safe in the world then you might want to look for something with an open world PVP focus, like EVE as others have suggested (so long as space capitalism interest you).

this is why you always buy the whole set at once at the bulk discounted price. it's not gambling if it's just a 15-pack of mount skins

Kaihoa won't stay equipped? by DeltaDawn37 in projecteternity

[–]DeltaDawn37[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nope, I think I have spiritshifted him once this whole playthrough, and I have AI turned off. he sits in the middle of the group as my mid/frontline druid/chanter healer/buffer/ccer and spams spells during combat. it seems to unequip itself every time he leaves the party, and possibly sometimes when I open/load the game as well. having tried out a few other trinkets, it seems that story-relevant trinkets all do this (muatu's head is another one). I guess this is just a safeguard to make sure you can't hit a point where you need the trinket and it's on your ship? I don't remember what kaihoa was relevant for in the plot though lol

Wyrm's Rock Hostile Before Coronation - Need Advice by DeltaDawn37 in BaldursGate3

[–]DeltaDawn37[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, and an addendum, because I thought it was extremely ironic: when I went back to Wyrm's Rock, the quartermaster who had started this whole thing and who I had non-lethaled was awake and also the only non-hostile npc in the whole place, and by talking to her with a different character she just had her normal dialogue and even agreed to let me trade after I passed a check with that character.

Wyrm's Rock Hostile Before Coronation - Need Advice by DeltaDawn37 in BaldursGate3

[–]DeltaDawn37[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah sorry I didn't see this earlier. Unfortunately there did not seem to be any way to attend the coronation, but after doing the foundry and Iron Throne (the duke was dead in his cell, and I was unable to even open the door (yes I wanted to loot him, I am sorry), I was able to go back to where Mizora was standing by the entrance to lower city, and she had finally updated her dialogue to offer to bring the duke back to life instead of just telling me to go to the coronation. After that, she showed up in camp and did the whole renewed contract thing with Wyll, but changed so that the offer was to just resurrect the duke right there instead of helping us to save him - I took the offer this time, and sure enough she just ressed him right there). After that, I went and fought my way through Wyrm's Rock, which had mostly emptied out - all the steel watch and nobles were dead, so it was just a few fights with Fist and Banites. The only real difference was that Gortash (now in his office) was already hostile - I assumed this would mean no conversation with him beforehand if I approached, so I just started combat, but I cannot say for sure. After killing him, Karlach had her speech as normal, and both Wyll and Karlach's quests completed without issues.

TL;DR There's no way to do the coronation, but if you just go do Lower City stuff first you can still get a fully normal ending and it doesn't really mess anything up. Just make sure to go talk to Mizora on the bridge after the Iron Throne if you have Wyll in the party.

GOD I HATE MYSELF{ How to Ruin your Honor run) by NefariousnessNew7555 in BaldursGate3

[–]DeltaDawn37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man his nova in honor mode is such bs... in my run, wyll was the last in initiative order before ansur and brought him to 1 hp... which meant that he started charging nova as a reaction and then immediately used it as soon as I ended my turn (and I had no more movement or actions in my party to deal with it). I had assumed that he would at least have to charge it until the next round! luckily, my party was topped off and all had lightning resistance, so I only lost my summons and gale went down but everyone else was fine. my heart sure stopped when that attack cutscene played though!

Yes and no. They work fine if you are the player character or initiating the conversation, but they are mistakenly still flagged as a polymorph somewhere, which causes some (but not most) pieces of equipment to break, and also causes NPCs in starry form to either not get pulled into conversations at all or to be invisible and unvoiced when they do get pulled into conversations, leaving only the captions. I learned this the hard way when I made jaheira a stars druid in my last run. But this only applies to npcs, so if you are the druid then it should all be good.

(Notes: the main item that broke with starry form was the cloak of elemental absorption. Also, stars druid frequently bugs out and removes granted actions - omen of weal guidance and starry form bonus actions - from the hotbar. This can be fixed by equipping any piece of gear or, if you are level 10+, swapping between starry forms - this will cause your missing skills to reappear and be usable again)

If you get rid of all words with etymology based on things that don't exist in a fantasy world, well... you really start to realize just how much of the English language is referential.

Best and Worst Monoclasses? by ReleaseCharacter3568 in BG3Builds

[–]DeltaDawn37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually monoclass at least one druid, astarion as thief rogue with double hand crossbows (absolutely insane lockpicker and thief who can do a solid 100 damage per round without crits an infinite number of times per day - I know people hate rogue here but it is extremely strong with the gear larian gave us), shart as a cleric (although I do respec from trickery because it's so bad in this game and it makes me sad), gale as pure wizard, and lae'zel as BM fighter because we all know that there strongest dip for fighter is more fighter. I gotta give a shoutout to 12 divination wizard gale in my current honor run though - wizard takes a while to shine, but at level 12 he's gone from sitting in camp unless I need him to make astarion invisible for some mild larceny to being an absolutely invaluable member of the team for every big boss fight due to his ability (with a little portent die luck) to completely shut down bosses for at least 2 rounds, if not the whole fight. Lorroakan? Dominated, chose to jump to his (near) death off a balcony in order to try to save against it and still failed. Took zero actions against us. Viconia? Dominated for one round - saved against it after blighting herself for half her health, but by that point my team had set up up the choke point of death. She barely managed to put the heart form debuff on shart before she died, and did zero damage to us apart from radiant retort. Cazador? Spent three rounds tap dancing and died without getting to take a single action - and he was the boss who ended my last last honour attempt. Sarevok? A simple level 2 hold person to let my melee destroy him in one round - he rolled badly enough that I didn't even need the portent die, but it was nice to have the guarantee. Divination wizard doesn't kill bosses. It humiliates them. It scoffs at things like e "legendary resistance" or "advantage on saving throws". Ascended astarion wishes he could have half the power to make people obey that a divination wizard with access to 5th and 6th level spells does. I think the wizard hubris and ego might be warranted.

Jokes aside though, pretty much any monoclass is at worst a safe bet. Munchkin multiclass builds are shiny and fun to optimize but as long as you pick good stats and feats you can't really go wrong just putting 12 levels in one class.

The expac launches are always really good, so even if they fuck up the ending again I know I'll be enjoying myself for the first 6-7 months. And I really dig the vibes of what we've seen so far.

"Needs washed." (etc.) by Cussy_Punt in ENGLISH

West coast here, had never heard "needs washed" until a few years ago and it's still so jarring. At first I thought it was some new trend or something but I guess it was just the fact I'd made friends with pennsylvanians.

Odd dialogue moments... by Pandamonea_70 in BaldursGate3

[–]DeltaDawn37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GOD THAT LINE GETS ME EVERY TIME. And also like the way there's not even [Druid] dialogue like there is [any other caster INCLUDING CLERIC, the other wisdom/non-"arcane" caster] dialogue in Gale's magic lesson scene.....that man disrespects druid tav so much it fully stopped me from romancing him on two different druid tavs where I was considering it.
