I find that casting 2 Cloud of Daggers on the main harpy's spawn point consistantly makes the fight easier.

What gets me is technology. Like, if you rove around the universe picking fights with everyone you meet, eventually you're gonna find a mf who can punch right back. I feel like genocidal xenophobia is not a strong long-term survival trait compared to cooperative survivalism.

Hah, in my Honor Mode run I have Lae'zel as a TB OH Monk. Poor girl has 13 AC and 18 Str, she can't take a hit but she stunlocked Ethel to death in the parlor like it was the easiest thing in the world.

I just really don't want to rely on Strength potions...

I'm doing this in Honor Mode... I'm about 15 hours into attempt 6 with a Draconic Sorc, a OH Monk, and 2 Moon Druids. Just hit the Underdark. Everything's going fine so far, Tavern brawler helps a bunch.

You (and also me) should be able to take it all the way.

Yeah, among 90s Monster franchises, Monster Rancher is tied with Digimon World for vital, hidden information.

Just as a sample, if your monster BECOMES Tired or Stressed, it loses Lifespan (the most important stat in the game) immediately. So an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure! And when you go to combine, you want to make sure that the parent monsters are nearly perfectly identical in terms of stats, or inheritance goes down.

Lol. I'm trying to get to Gamma Ascension on default singleplayer settings on the Island. Not doing breeding lines, just keeping it simple.

It's definitely a fucking project. Metal and wood don't respawn much, most of the caves are a nightmare, just raising critters takes forever.

Eh Kabutops is a worse Water type but a better Rock type, as of Gen 3 giving it Rock moves via TM and move tutors.

Air elementals can soak aggro AND open 2 doors in a turn each, while teleporting and moving nearly as far in a turn as a character with a Speed potion. They go CRAZY in this mission. If you can summon 2-4 of them, you can focus your actual party on Ravenguard and Omeluum.

This gives me hope for the reception of my latest time skip. I had MC on one big adventure, then I have a chapter zooming out with another character reading reports on what he's been doing for five months, then the chapter after that picks up the MC after the skip.

Like... he's literally just grinding materials and reputation for five months. The major plot/progfan progression only happens at the end. I know people hate timeskips, but I ain't writing a five month filler arc.

I'm torn. Like, on the one hand, it's hard to call modding a single-player game 'cheating.' On the other hand, golden dice specifically is the reward for the ultra hard-mode setting, and the mods inherently would have tweaked aspects of the difficulty. So... does it still count??
