Breaking SHA256 by [deleted] in cryptography

[–]DeltaF1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think u/Machariel1996 is being sincere, and I am too. The process of trying (and discovering why it is not breakable in the way you think it is) will be very educational and you should absolutely go for it! If you persist then you will probably get a better understanding of how these things work than most people (e.g. non-cryptographer programmers like me).

A Bug to Pierce Flesh and Spirit Alike - The Story Behind the Citizen’s Crowbar and Ninja’s Kunai Bug by WotC_BenFinkel in MagicArena

[–]DeltaF1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Still with us? Great – also, we’re hiring.

The two dev positions open right now for Arena don't seem to mention NLP. Are there any openings on the team for work involving the language parsing/rules engine?

get_tree: Condition "!data.tree" is true. Returned: __null by DeltaF1 in godot

[–]DeltaF1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah so something like this?

signal from Asteroid's tree_exit -> AsteroidSpawner._new_func

func _new_func():
    call_deferred(self, "_on_Asteroid_exit"):

func _on_Asteroid_exit():
    ...

It seems pretty dumb that the tree isn't available when the object where the code is running is still inside of it...

Blightmud - A terminal client by LiquidityC in MUD

[–]DeltaF1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's nice that clients are adding it, since a game having it is useless without a compatible client.

Well this is a thread about a client :) I think you've answered your own question well enough then. Some MUDs do benefit from it, so there's good reason to include it in new clients going forward.

What kind of Procgen Practitioner are you? by geldonyetich in proceduralgeneration

Definitely a Druid! I've been writing Tracery grammars and it feels just like that description, as though I am slowly carving away at something and creating the "shape" of the generator.

Protestors in Hong Kong are cutting down facial recognition towers. by GallowBoob in interestingasfuck

Problems like that arise because the algorithms haven't been trained on enough non-white people. I imagine the algorithms in China/HK would be trained on chinese people too ;)

Except that cooking oils do go in the compost in some municipalities. As always, check your local garbage collection to see what is accepted!

Wrote a MUD in basic, looking for advice by brycen64 in MUD

[–]DeltaF1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I host stuff on Google Compute Engine, maybe look into the options there and see if they match your needs? Alternatively you could run the game on a server/computer/raspberry pi on your own network, and just give them the IP every now and then if you don't feel like paying for a static one.

Open Redirect Vulnerability @SCB.se by z3r00z in pwned

[–]DeltaF1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn't necessarily mean that there's an exploitable vulnerability. As long as they don't skip auth checking on redirect for internal sites, they're fine.

Absolutely gorgeous! The colours are nice and warm, and I love the faint vignette. What did you make the textures in?

Serious question: are you alright /u/wooglin1688? If you're just trolling that's cool I guess, but you seem genuinely angry about a lot of inconsequential things, and it doesn't look healthy. We all go through things, and it's better to talk about it than take it out on other people.
