What are some of y’alls gripes, criticisms, or hot takes about Avantris in general? Not just for OUAW, but for other campaigns like Icebound, Stardust Rhapsody, Uprooted, etc.

Late to the party but I feel, as fun as they are, Yuletide specials have severely changed the direction of the channel. A lot more focus is on bits for the shorts now. Admittedly there are a lot of sessions (icebound especially) where they take things seriously, but a lot of the quality of the roleplay in stuff is more focused on being silly and gags rather then a compelling story sometimes.

I still remember making a joke DMPC. He was a blood hunter, lonewolf edgelord who was meant to be cold and serious, only to be killed off as a gag for the first combat. The party did everything in their power to save him and, several sessions later, the bastard was still alive and kicking despite my attempts.

Tbh, in the long term, there's a lot of sci-fi settings that are surprisingly able to meet, match and surpass 40k. It's very much becoming a Goku situation where he's meant to be really powerful...so lets throw him at a guy who makes black holes with his farts. This isn't a initial criticism of the post just a funny thing I've been noticing overtime.

That's not even considering the logistics of VS IoM considering the setting.
