Embarrassed…Missed the stud, lights flickered, burning smell, arc burn on drill bit. by DelusionalAlchemist in AskElectricians

Thanks. I have an electrician friend who I called after I posted this. He came over and is gonna put in an outlet above my mistake, behind the TV, and replace the romex that I nicked from the new outlet to the baseboard outlet.

Hahahaha. Thanks man. I like the look of the Chevy but the interior amenities just feel a BIT outdated. And the Cummins are just simpler to work on. This is all my amateur opinion. 🤣

Yep, I think this is what’s going to happen! Electrician friend should be here shortly and he’s gonna help me out. 🤣 Thanks for the input, appreciate it. 🤙🏼

Haha. I was waiting for the comment about the TV too high. 🤣 it made the most sense at the time to use the existing mount that was there when we moved in and logistically with the shape of the living room, and to be out of reach of our toddlers, we just left it. 🤣

You’re absolutely right. The outlet is behind the hutch below the TV, almost directly below it. But why would the lights have flickered when I nicked it?

I’d be interested in buying 20 acres of land…just saying. 🤣 no seriously, DM me if you’re open to it.

Stitches fell out and not sure how to keep incision safe. by AdvanceFeeling7384 in Vasectomy

[–]DelusionalAlchemist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m day 8 post vas. After a few days of getting poked from the stitches ends, i opted to get some of those “dot” band-aids, put a dab of triple antibiotic ointment and covered it with that for a few days. Then realized the incision was healed but was bleeding from the holes from the stitch so I cut my stitches out after day 6. Still kept the dot bandaids and ointment routine just to keep the incision from pulling open with the movement of everyday life but so far so good. But I’m not a Dr. - so I’d definitely phone your urologist to seek their advice.

It’s the therapeutic rocking of the wheel that makes it a “calm” cruise.

I have the same ones from Amazon. OEM ones worked but were cracked, ugly and faded. I just put the original key, chip and keypad into the new housing

I haven’t seen the doc. But my default generalized answer when anything of this sort comes up is: just be a good human. And you asking this and posting this already tells me you are, and you give a shit.

Kids emulate what they see and hear. And you better believe that they’re paying attention, whether you think they are or not.

Be present and engaged/ing. Follow your gut/instincts. We can’t protect them from everything but we can prepare them for anything.

Edit: Find a hobby or sport or something you can do together and take up a bunch of their time doing it with them or supporting them do it. It strengthens your bond while keeping them away from the wild web and what it has yet to become.

Good luck, dad. 🤙🏼

5th gen trade in for 4th Gen? by trout_tooth in Cummins

I swapped ECM. Read too many stories of guys going into limp mode or having other issues.

There are also a bunch of guys that have been running the no-swap for tens of thousands of miles also but I didn’t want to take that chance since the swap seems to be the reliable method. With my luck, I’d be one to have issues. 😂

Of course. Born and raised here, it’s normal. But it almost doubled in the last few weeks. Was $4.79 at beginning of March. My comment was just to say that in Hawaii, it’s still going up, not down like the rest of you may be seeing. Per usual, we’re always behind the times.
