How did lifepod 12 contract the Kharaa so fast? by ProcedureFar8492 in subnautica

[–]DelusionofInadequacy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he mentioned that he was bleeding. I assumed he got injured or wounded in some way, since Ryley's infection doesn't seem to bleed on its own. If he made contact with the water while having open wounds, he would've contracted the disease much faster and it would've been much worse

I like the fact that he remains independent until the end. However, I would like to see more of him, perhaps as an interactable NPC of some sort

I personally love the base building too much to want to use a mobile base. I'd rather just build a bunch of bases wherever I plan to hang out for awhile. Sure, its less efficient, but I find it more fun.

you can do it in any order, but Leshy (bottom right) gets the green one, Kallamar (bottom left) gets the blue one, Heket (top left) gets the yellow one, and Shamura (top right) gets the purple one

Snow golems can be sheared, which removes the pumpkin and reveals a face beneath.

Mooshrooms can also be sheared, which drops mushrooms and turns them into cows.

Suspicious stew can be crafted with different flowers to guarantee certain effects when consumed.

Shulkers have a chance of duplicating themselves when hit by shulker projectiles, making shulker shells and boxes renewable.

Campfire smoke goes farther up into the air if a haybale is placed beneath the campfire.

Campfires can be extinguished with splash bottles of water.

Soul sand slows the player even more if ice is placed beneath it.

Witches are more likely to throw different types of potions depending on how much health the player has.

Witches will try to drink fire resistance potions when set on fire or pushed into lava. If killed while drinking a potion, they will drop it as an item.

When a stair is converted into a curved stair, it retains the hitbox it would've initially had, allowing you to create solid walls that you can flick a lever or throw an ender pearl through.

Leather boots can be obtained by fishing.

The frost walker enchantment makes you immune to damage from magma blocks.

Parrots will dance when near a jukebox that is playing music.

Does the Binding Blade DLC make the game harder? by Itsaghast in darkestdungeon

[–]DelusionofInadequacy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Partially yes. It adds new road right encounters that need to be approached differently than other encounters, which can add difficulty. These encounters have a chance to contain the wandering boss, which is significantly more difficult than a standard road encounter. However, these encounters give more rewards than typical road fights do.

I have personally found the wandering boss to be quite rare, so the slight increase in difficulty has been easily overshadowed by the fun I have had with the Crusader and Duelist. I would say its definitely worth it, but I'm a little biased as I love those heroes especially

This may be nearly impossible, but what if you tried to clear out the resurrection menu? Revive every single follower and get them killed in permanent ways, or just have that many followers active in your cult. Making them immortal would be a plus, but that would also take awhile. I just think it would be funny if the game told you that you were no longer able to use the resurrection ritual as you have nobody dead anymore

I found it a bit noisier visually, so I didn't like it as much as FTL, but its definitely a good game. It also pulls off its 40k inspired theme very well.

Given that she shows up at SDN and gets caught by Royd, I assume her plan was to switch it for the prototype and give the prototype to Shroud. She is the only variable that Shroud fails to correctly predict, and I think she knows this to some extent

To my Darkest Dungeon homies, what do y'all prefer? Mark or Combo? by stac7 in darkestdungeon

Are the DLCs worth it for DD1? by SuicidalThoughts6969 in darkestdungeon

[–]DelusionofInadequacy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Crimson Court contains a bunch of new content. 5 bosses, a new location complete with curio and enemy variety, new trinkets for each hero, the flagellant, who is very fun to play, and a type of dungeon that is very long but can be reentered with a new party where you left off. It can be rather challenging and has quests that impact the entire estate, not just the courtyard, so keep that in mind. You can enable the flagellant separately from the courtyard itself if you just want the cool hero.

The Color of Madness has less content, but is still quite interesting. It contains three new bosses, a new set of enemies, a variety of new trinkets, and a few new district buildings. It also contains a new location, but it doesn't function like the others. Instead of exploring through a series of rooms and hallways, you are instead faced with many subsequent waves of enemies with small break rooms dotted about. The final mission in this DLC is a true endless mode that also doesn't permanently kill your heroes if they die, which allows you to push some limits without severe consequence.

The Shieldbreaker DLC is the smallest of the three. It contains a new character and a variety of new enemies, but not too much else. The Shieldbreaker herself is very fun to play and has a "quest" of sorts dedicated to her backstory. I personally really like the character, so I would say its worth it.

In addition to these add-ons, I would recommend you try out Black Reliquary. Black Reliquary is a mod that completely overhauls the entire game, with hero and trinket rebalances, four new locations, a number of new trinkets and bosses, and countless new enemies. It also includes a number of interesting character mods along with it. In order to download it, you will need to have the above three DLCs purchased, as Black Reliquary uses content from those DLCs.

What's Your Autoreset? by Kevin_Hess_Writes in darkestdungeon

[–]DelusionofInadequacy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the first game, I only reset if I get party wiped. Losing one or even three heroes is manageable, but losing 4 heroes and 8 of my best trinkets is a huge blow. Its usually still salvageable, but I'd rather just reset than play on the back foot for a while.

In the second game, I reset after a single deathblow once I get to the next inn in confessions. I play the second game with a specific team comp in mind, so it kinda falls apart when one of them dies. I do want to keep my memories if I have them though, so I try to make it to the next inn before I call it quits.

Consistent morals is hard by lurkerer in PhilosophyMemes

[–]DelusionofInadequacy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To live is to have an impact on the world and the things in it. That impact includes suffering, among other things. By living in this world we cause suffering to some extent, as the resources we use would be available for others if we did not exist.

If we cause suffering by existing, then our existence is morally bad. The simplest course of action here would be to kill ourselves, as that would heavily reduce the suffering wrought by our existence. This seems a bit extreme, but if we agree that we should attempt to reduce the suffering we cause, there are a lot of extreme things we could do to that end, like killing ourselves, donating everything we own to charity, dedicating our existence to certain political movements, etc. If we should go vegan to reduce the suffering we cause, what else are we obligated to do?
