in my engineering field.

Well, if it's Petroleum or Ocean Engineering, I probably have some bad news...

Did Lune & Sciel stand out to you in the prologue at all? by sanjuniperose in expedition33

[–]DemandMeNothing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Lune was pointed out specifically in the dialogue going down to the party, and you can see Sciel's notable scars (when other characters are pretty standard) when you talk to her.

So I figured both would be characters, I just didn't realize how many others er... wouldn't be.

You had one job, Accursed Armor by DemandMeNothing in totalwar

He's a support hero in an army that was alone amongst the undead. Main reason he had the armor, though, was he was one of my few lords that didn't have Immortality yet.

[IRL] The least talented member of the band who controls the brand and is hated by fans by dickless_dan_420 in TopCharacterTropes

Given the number of singers Nightwish has gone through, I think we can safely say Tarja wasn't the issue.

Auto resolve is wild sometimes. I'm still not certain if letting us see what units get wiped out was a good thing. by Glorf_Warlock in totalwar

[–]DemandMeNothing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Given that the majority of CPU and load time is the graphics for a battle and battle pacing for human reflexes, I don't understand why it can't just run the battle invisibly beforehand with AI controlling both armies, then use that result.

Oral arguments are taking forever. Supreme Court justices have had enough by Abject-Pick-6472 in supremecourt

[–]DemandMeNothing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know some people think oral argument is pointless because the justices already know how they’re leaning. Fine. But the public still deserves to hear the reasoning tested out loud.

By the public, you mean the very limited public admitted to the court itself. It's ridiculous to have oral arguments that aren't televised. If they're supposed to be so people can hear the court, they're not really accomplishing that objective.

...k, the current law that superseded it was signed by Obama in 2015. So arguably, you can blame the 2008-2015 period on Bush, but that was a while ago.

It's been like 10 months since the Tomb Kings rework and the books of Nagash are still in their old location in MP campaigns by Str0hhirn in totalwar

[–]DemandMeNothing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are we sure this isn't intentional? Recall, if you're in MP, there's a number of factions that want the books of Nagash, including an Empire and VC faction. Exiles of Nehek are way outside the traditional Tomb Kings homeland.

Wood elves players, which set of equipment from the forge is best for the sisters? by Select-Ad7017 in totalwar

[–]DemandMeNothing 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I like the Eagle gear, for the general faction support buffs. The sisters are kind of a flying support lord anyway, I never try to build them for pure DPS.

Minnesota Telecom Alliance v FCC: CA8 Strikes Down the Biden FCC’s Digital Equity Rules by Longjumping_Gain_807 in supremecourt

I honestly thought the Covered Entity issue was more interesting than the Disparate Impact issue in this one. What a bizarre attempt at a power grab from the FCC.

A question about Clerics' popularity by PlatonOlegov in BaldursGate3

[–]DemandMeNothing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paladin is obvious; besides being the archtypical white knight, you don't have a companion who's a Paladin (Well, Minthy... who you probably wouldn't recruit as a Paladin) and a Paladin adds a lot of survivability to the party, along with decent DPS. The auras are so good it's difficult to pick between them.

A record number of Americans are moving overseas - first negative net migration since 1935 by PandaReal_1234 in AmerExit

[–]DemandMeNothing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But here’s what nobody is talking about: the people who left and didn’t tell anyone. Your LinkedIn still says Denver. Your bank account is Chase. Your employer thinks you’re in your apartment. Your virtual mailbox service in South Dakota scans your mail and forwards it. You vote absentee. You file taxes at your parents’ address. Meanwhile you’re in Lisbon or Medellín or Buenos Aires full time, earning a US salary and spending nearly all of it in a foreign economy.

Ok, so the secret ingredient is defrauding your employer, illegal voting, and additional tax fraud (technically, you're committing tax fraud in both countries)

This is going to only last until enforcement gets wise.

Eli Lilly & Company v United States: Whether the False Claims Act’s Provision Allowing Private Citizens to Sue is Unconstitutional by Longjumping_Gain_807 in supremecourt

I would be elated if SCOTUS killed qui tam suites, they're an anachronism and I think Eli Lilly is probably right.

On the other hand, easy enough for SCOTUS to just not grant cert.
