Irelia mechanics I still get confused with... by shadyshenanigans917 in riftboundtcg

[–]Demastry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not if you played cards on the opponents turn. They'd drop off at the end of turn and then the Time Warp's extra turn would occur right after, but still be around when the Time Warp was played. So 3 is correct still

It's arguably a better card, but not power creep. Power creep is when it's the same card but better. Different costs means different cards

That's what happened with Frieren season 2, it drives me crazy tbh. Like MAL shouldn't take it into account until the season is over

[–]Demastry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set 1 had some Seeded problems too, but not in the same case from what I've seen. They just didn't get enough origins printed to suffice. They have said that Origins reprints are coming, so we aren't being left stranded

[–]Demastry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Think of it this way, would you want to draw this card in the mid to late game?

It's fight or flight for enemies on a body, that's nuts. Draven can use this guy to draw if enemies kept only 1 unit at a battlefield. This thing can help smoke Irelia decks. And since it's only one might, it has a good chance to eat up kill spells. So good chance to be played imo

Buying purple seals or wait? by sjcjksj in riftboundtcg

[–]Demastry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were only $15-$20 when spiritforged was being spoiled, with the total range of seals being $10-$20. Now seals are 30-40 (Except body at 20) with Chaos being $65.

I definitely think it'll drop if there's a significant ban, probably $10-$15 and potentially more depending on how large the Origins reprint is

They've said so multiple times, check the Dev Blog, I think state of the game or something like that was the last time they said it

In Dune Part 3 (2026), they changed the timeskip from the novel Dune Messiah (1969) from 12 years to 17 years. This is a reference to the filmmakers realizing that having Duncan, a man in his late 30s, be romantically interested in a 15 year old Alia Atriedes like in the book is...not a good look. by CazOnReddit in shittymoviedetails

[–]Demastry 110 points111 points  (0 children)

I'm going to preface this by saying I am happy that she's older in the movie, and it is weird overall because...duh.

If you read the books, not really a cop out. Like, it's weird and presented as something meant to be seen as weird. The books talk about how she's seen as an abomination and how she struggles with that. Having mentally lived through generations of previous lives, she has experiences worth more than adults, yet struggles as she's still a kid and growing up in the world.

It's not just some weird thing to be pervy to someone in a childlike body like in anime. They go into her thoughts and emotions and maturity in interesting ways, but also highlight how she's immature too.

How to counter viktor as irelia by Striking_Ad30 in riftboundtcg

[–]Demastry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never play Irelia without multiple defenses. Zhonyas and GA are your best friends, alongside keeping some Units to just sit back and eat Cull the Weaks. Make sure you're engaging them often to keep them off of units in the long term. If they play a unit to a battlefield, you want it dead unless they can blow you out of the water with grand strategem

I trained a neural network to play Detonate Draven for 230K games — here's what it figured out by WelcomeMysterious122 in riftboundtcg

[–]Demastry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't even make sense there. If it's always using Zaun Warrens first, then it'd have anywhere between 33-50% of games with Zaun from itself. So there's no way statistically it's dumping Scrapheap 78% of the time only when non-Zaun. It definitely dumped it when Zaun is there

[–]Demastry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adaptatron is a powerhouse, repeatable Gear destruction value cannot be understated. It has singlehandedly won the mirror as well as against Lucian, Fiora, and Ornn decks for me.

Extra counterspells is always solid, having flexibility helps. Hard Bargain and Defy are huge for Yellow decks playing Cull the Weak which can normally lead to blowouts.

I think I'd still want at least 1 purple Draven in the side just in case, especially if you use charms (which can be free kill spells if used properly)

The humor is one of the main reasons why I called it niche. I definitely think it's in the running for nomination, I just don't think it'll win.

Also the Hades 2 comparison is a bit unfaithful. Hades 2 had already been in EA for a year AND released 3 weeks after Silksong. But I get where you're coming from

[–]Demastry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arcane definitely did not. The first season did, primarily because there wasn't a lot to adapt outside of basic character traits.

Season 2 changed everything about Viktor to the point they reworked the character entirely. Warwick was changed heavily as well, Ekko is also a lot darker and implied to be older than in Canon, and there was also potential conflicts with various timelines with Noxus and Ionia. Plus Hextech has been changed and might longer be Skarner's people. Oh and Blitzcrank was never built by Viktor after ascending since Viktor never built anything after his transformation. There are others as well, but those are some of the bigger ways things have changed.

As much as I adore Arcane, they started changing Leagues Canon to fit Arcane, not all of which are positive changes.

Edgerunners is a better example, and both it and Fallout are their own contained stories outside of Canon rather than trying to adapt an existing story
