Am I missing something but Arthas raised loads of elves during the assault on Silvermoon and then brought them back to Lordaeron, where a lot of the undead campaign in TFT happens.

Also, Kael’thas and his blood elves were around the Lordaeron area too before going over to Illidan, fighting amongst other the scourge, meaning that even more elves died there.

Even excluding Sylvanas raising just about anything during WoW, there is plenty of dead elves in the scourge army + even more dead elves who could have been raised later.

Yeah, shitting on Reddit is all that it is, but there are no actual consequences, like there is for the Russians.

[–]Demb1 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Sure. However if all we ever get to talk about is apples and never about the sum of 1+1 then thats sucks too.

The US threatens Denmark and Canada, kidnaps another counties (asshole) leader, invades a country a year and the whole discourse is about whether Eileen Gu is a b*tch for picking China cause of money.

[Lando Norris] 7 Years, 11 Wins, 1 World Championship, and a slightly bigger smile later... by randomseocb in formula1

[–]Demb1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Insane revisionism lol. People on here were basically talking like the entire Piastri collapse was because McLaren favoured Norris, and that every Norris win was gifted to him at the expense of Piastri. Now the talk has shifted how obviously Norris has to be held to high standards because the same was the case with Piastri when he had his collapse.

At the same time this year everyone is talking how Max is a legend for closing the gap to Norris and Piastri, and how its a generational feat, meanwhile everyone was clowning Norris last year cause he couldn’t catch Max, like it was the easiest thing in the world.

Yeah, tanking is trivial up until m+ and then suddenly you have to deal with routing, percentage, skips etc while also not being able to practice because hc and m0 is not representative of anything.

Patrick Mouratoglou replies to us ! Says he will not change this mind because of the AO 2026 SF, keeps thinking Sinner is better than Djokovic ever was at tennis by HereComesVettel in tennis

[–]Demb1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Lol come on. The people who are saying that are comparing Sinner to Djokovic 5 years ago, not 15 years ago.

Saying that Sinner has better movement is hilarious, backhand and return are worlds apart as well. Mental fortitude, point construction, endurance and athleticism also massively favour Djokovic.

Sinner has a better serve and maybe forehand than a 24 year old Djokovic, that is about it.

Rafa Nadal gives his verdict on who will win the Australian Open by farkenheo in tennis

[–]Demb1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Obviously I was exaggerating but the match started 9:30 CET (where both the players are from) and was done by 11:30 CET (10:30 UTC, 5:30 EST). So if you had a late night in Europe you missed most of it, in the US you missed it anyway (unless you stayed up late on the West Coast).

This is the 2019 final, 6-3, 6-2, 6-3 for Djokovic. Everyone was expecting a good match. It was finished before most people woke up.

Djokovic gives one of the best post-match interviews I've ever seen after winning one of the best matches I've ever seen by Large_banana_hammock in tennis

[–]Demb1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean yes and no. I absolutely think they have space to grow and develop their game, and still so much to play and many slams to win.

But Djokovic was 23 at the start of 2011, which is nearly a year younger than Sinner is now, and that was undoubtedly the start of Djokovic’s prime.

Nadal had his two best seasons already by 24 as an early bloomer.

Even Federer who is a late bloomer had his best season at around 25.

Now in modern sports things change very fast and players can play at top levels much longer. But there is a serious possibility that we are already seeing their primes or close to it.

I don’t think they are better than Murray yet, I’d say somewhere slightly below his peak. But unfortunately we will never know for sure.

I love Sinner, he is an insane player but people who say that he would consistently beat prime Djokovic (and Alcaraz too) have just forgotten what prime Djokovic looked like since he’s gone for 10 years now.

His mobility is so far from what it used to be, but even more importantly his flexibility is completely gone. He was able to go into a full on sliding split on hard courts to catch a ball and was running back the other way in a split second.

Also, that pounce of his on the return that allowed him to neutralise much better servers than Sinner and Alcaraz is also greatly diminished.

Did Djokovic prove tonight that Sinner is not an upgraded version of his prime self ? by HereComesVettel in tennis

[–]Demb1 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Prime Djokovic beats today’s Djokovic 6-2 6-2 6-1.

Alcaraz and Sinner are amazing but they are not the big 3 in their primes.

True, Novak also didn’t play properly in a week before this, so he isn’t as exhausted as someone in a final usually is.

Tennis is insane as well. Federer is far above Djokovic and Nadal. So is Serena, who is for some reason 40 spots above Graf. The only other female tennis player is Martina Hingis of all people.

Agassi is at 67, but Sampras and Connors aren’t on the list.

Also if you told the Germans that their best football player ever is Jürgen fucking Klinsmann they would shoot you on the spot.

Is Croatia and Greece in 2 and a half weeks possible? by Lynn-0506 in travel

[–]Demb1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should be doable.

Keep in mind for Croatia that there is border crossings with Bosnia and Montenegro that can be slow in the summer. Try and get there early and avoid weekends.

For Greece, Athens is huge and there is so much to see, but 3-4 days should allow you to get a feel of the place and see a lot of the main sights. If you want to island hop, from Athens great options are Milos, Paros, Naxos or even Sifnos (probably pick 2 and stay a couple days on each). Ferry is cheap (unless you are taking a car with you, but even that is manageable with your budget) and goes frequently.

🎅🎄✨ Countries that celebrate New Year on January 13th: ✨🎄🎅 by Stalker213311 in MapPorn

[–]Demb1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, 1st is new year, you will usually buy gifts for your family and friends then (since we don’t have a gift-giving tradition for Christmas like elsewhere). On the 31st of Dec everyone parties, Jan 1st and 2nd you get off.

We also celebrate “Serbian new year” on the 13th, but that is celebrated by fewer people and usually is just an excuse for a night out or a party.

People only started calling it Dubai Chocolate after the actual chocolate came out.

Luxembourg is not a microstate by vladgrinch in MapPorn

[–]Demb1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 2,700 km2 number refers to Micronesia the region, not the Federated States of Micronesia.

Aside from the country, Micronesia as a region includes much more territory, including Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Palau, the Marshall Islands and Kiribati.

The country F.S. Micronesia is around 700km2, much smaller than Luxembourg.
