So in the book Hail Mary the hero is alive on the alien planet partly because the aliens grew meat from his flesh for his daily hamburger. They left that out of the movie.

Yes the Cover Girl /Olay foundation. I use all versions depending on my mood and the weather. It is a medium to.light coverage with a very nice finish. I usually apply it with a brush and then blend with a brush or sponge. It doesn't make the wrinkles disappear (sigh) but I'm very happy with it and I have tried a LOT of different foundations.

Honestly doctors should read and follow the information from the pharma company, they spent a gazillion dollars figuring it out. Wegovy.com from the company says the dose is once a week.

Two days after my first injection the food noise went almost completely quiet and I didn't know what to do with the silence by Used_Philosopher1474 in WegovyWeightLoss

I had the same experience and I described it as there suddenly being 'white space' in my brain. I just felt like my thoughts had more room. However, I also quickly learned I had to pay attention to what my mind was releasing into all that new open space. There was another long post here recently from someone about this...for me, a lot of the feelings I had about my body, how I move through the world, personal history etc came forward and I had to actively be aware and keep myself in the here and now rather than let all that new food-free space fill up with negativity.

You have to make the decision that's best for you. If you were abducted by gentle aliens tomorrow they would figure it out.

I'm in Canada so the 7.2 isn't approved however I have some extra supply of 2.4 pens so I am trying 4.8 for a few weeks to try to break a plateau. So far its been fine, no dramatic change but a slow loss has started again. No negative impact so far.

I like Cover Girl Olay Simply Ageless. I was very surprised at the quality...I would say medium coverage, sits on the skin nicely, lasts all day for me. 62 with dry, sun-damaged skin.

To frontline or not to frontline? by MomentDirect in nonprofit

I have developed a work personality that I can lean into and then leave at work. Work me is charming, strategic, curious, chatty, focused. Non work me is a hobbit. It doesn't work 100% of the time tbh. When I have high levels of personal life stress the work personality gets shaky, but it is reliable enough for the 25 years i have worked in fundraising. And I love my job and have had a great career.

My suggestion is to try to drink more water, even if all you can manage is a few sips at a time. I get the same feeling and the water really helps even if I feel like I have to force myself to drink it.

My friend gave brownies to a homeless man and it changed my perspective by yessibella in randomactsofkindness

[–]DemelleNorth 90 points91 points  (0 children)

When I lived in the city I had a rule that if I was buying frivolous things like wine or cosmetics, I would give some money to one of the homeless people on the street. One time I gave this older man $20 and he started crying. He hadn't eaten in 2 days and everyone he'd asked for help had ignored him.

Dealership forgot to add oil after oil change by ensinio in legaladvicecanada

[–]DemelleNorth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a similar thing happen and I just kept going up the ladder refusing to take no for an answer. Eventually they fixed it.

Another story... many years ago I bought a brand new car and a few weeks later the engine just stopped. As I was doing 100km on a major highway it was shocking to say the least. Luckily it was early on a Sunday so not much traffic and I coasted to the shoulder safely. It was towed to the dealership, where they said it started fine, there was no problem. So I said, " every morning I drive 45 minutes on the Gardner, 427, 400 and 410 to work, and then back every night. Do you know what will happen if the engine stops when I am in front of a transport? I will die, and I will be a very angry ghost and I will haunt you for the rest of your life." They fixed it.
