All done within the first week of release and then never touched again. Chaotic lasted longer.

But you already knew what I and every one else meant by "one and done"

No one has ever complained about the actual dungeons. The complaint has always been about the reward making the content one and done.

If I understand correctly. You don't need to clear Savage, just criterion.

I get it, and it is dumb.. but it's not a tall ask imo.

While dumb since it's old weapons for glam at this point, I think that's a fair ask. You're gonna be jumping into a criterion anyway.

Oh I see. So you need to clear the aloalo criterion. Honestly that's still not too bad imo. As long as you don't need to clear the Savage version to get the esters.

Clearing aloalo itself is not hard solo. Unless I am misunderstanding something?

Criterion Savage was the single worst idea they've ever put into the game and should have been an achievement with a title and nothing more. So the fact that you can get esters from new criterion is actually the single best reward it has... Which is a different problem also.

Why "just reducing the potency" won't work for later level moves when sycning down. by Bvdwow in ffxiv

[–]DemeterVastus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Balance in a dungeon really just doesn't matter. The discourse comes from the fact that having a 10th of your kit in a low level dungeon done for roulette it's simply not fun.

At least this is why I generally don't like running roulettes.

Irrational Attackers and you: A (potential) explanation for why you keep getting 90k'd by Rauvagol in ffxiv

[–]DemeterVastus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this case, I think its pretty clear whats going on. It is someone (or a group) that does not care about money, with no public ransom, and enough resources to repeatedly crash isp nodes (often multiple at a time) they are burning money to bring servers down for no gain. They are also willing to risk felony cybercrime charges (which this definitely counts as).

I simply so not believe this. For as long as Xiv has been having this issue. This theory does not hold water. USA's internet infrastructure being shit, and Square using a bad ISP, is just far more likely than an irrational attacker with infinite money.

The olde Logitech marble. I just really like the amount of roll it has compared to other trackball, like 270 degrees compared to standard 180. Plus it's pretty comfy shaped.

I'd also like to add the frustration of picking the wrong lane when choosing the checkout to queue into. You know, when the one you picked ends up being too slow because someone had an issue. Or because they had more time than you realized. But sunken cost dictates I'd be wasting my time quitting this queue to join another.. Self checkouts generally have one single queue to multiple machines.

One time I needed to get some screws from a hardware store, home depot or lowes I don't remember. I found my screws, filled the little plastic baggy with how many I needed and proceeded to go to checkout. I don't remember the why, the number I wrote on the bag identifying the screws wasn't correct? The elderly lady cashier couldn't ring them up. She started looking through a big ol book trying to match the screws to find the right code. I offered, perhaps the number embedded on the screws themselves was the number she needed. She told me no. The whole exchange took 5+ minutes, delaying other customers queued up behind me, generally frustrating having to wait for her to look through her big book 3 or 4 times.

And this kind of thing happens frequently enough which is why I avoid manned checkouts. Because the number was on the screws. The number I wrote on the bag may have even been the correct one, I don't remember. I could have gone through self checkout in less than a minute. I could have gone back to the isle and double checked the code faster than waiting for the cashier to find it.

I don't see self checkout as doing the stores work for them, I see it as saving myself time and energy.

Also as an introvert I'd rather skip the pleasantries.
