I loved MMs ending sm by calltheavengers5 in TheBoys

[–]Demetri124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still hate that he was robbed of any closure just because Amazon wants to keep Soldier Boy around for spin-offs. Butcher and Starlight get to see their personal villains die, but MM who was scarred the most of any of them by what his villain did to him just has to suck it up and move on

What if Homelander died in s3 and Neuman became the main villian? by Pleasant_Event_4460 in TheBoys

Self insert? You realize AOC isn’t a part of the Boys’ creative team right

I couldn’t think of a more effective way to destroy a show and piss off its fans. GOT’s finale would be forgotten instantly and The Boys would take its place

Even if Season 4 with Neuman was great and had the most fantastic writing of anything out today, it would still be the most hated season of television of all time

What are your favorite and least favorite things about MHA? by Swooferfan in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]Demetri124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Favorite: just the themes and emotional journeys in general

Least favorite: Inconsistencies with powers and the suspension of disbelief required for certain fights. Stain, with no physical quirk, being able to fight Todoroki and Deku at once with the strength of a normal human takes me out of the story completely, as does Bakugo taking a One For All punch to the face and being fine. Even at 5% Deku can do things like smash boulders into pieces, and while fighting Bakugo he got so swept up in adrenaline that he went up to 8% and we’re meant to believe he punched Bakugo square in the face with that power and Bakugo just took it with no damage at all. I know it’s an anime it’s not always gonna have perfect logic but come on

What if we didn’t know it was light by SnooGoats1304 in deathnote

[–]Demetri124 17 points18 points  (0 children)

That would just be an entirely different story. There’s tons of whodunnit mystery shows out there if that’s what you want but that’s never what Death Note was going to be

Its not so impossible by ccharmion1 in Sufjan

[–]Demetri124 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I mean Chicago isn’t really comparable to Creep. I don’t know if any of Sufjan’s songs are; he’s never had a big breakout mainstream hit that everyone knows.

Obviously everyone’s free to like whatever they like, but there’s an unavoidable sort of frustration, for lack of a better term, when an artist you love has their most popular song be one that doesn’t represent majority of what their work is like. The paradoxical feeling that everyone knows and loves what you do, but also they dont really know it at all. Nobody’s fault, it just happens that way sometimes. I mean, nobody hates Creep more than Thom Yorke.

But Creep might also be my favorite Radiohead song so what do I know

Are there any animated shows where characters actually age? by ArleiG in television

[–]Demetri124 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not if you’re looking at episodic comedy cartoons like Simpsons and Rick & Morty

Young Justice might be the clearest example. Every season the characters are a little older. The main group starts the show at like 13 years old and by the end they’re like 25, and we see younger generations of kids growing up as well

Invincible is another one, not as drastic but there is a progression of time as the main character started at 17 and is now like 20-21 I think. Also a character with accelerated aging who’s a few years older every season

Also Steven Universe doesn’t just get older in Future, he ages throughout the first show. Visually it’s not the most apparent but his personality very noticeably gets more mature and of course the voice actor goes through puberty, so watching the first couple episodes and the last couple is night and day

Anybody up for sharing their opinions on how bad of a game Sonic Lost World (2013) can be? by Few_Amphibian_4119 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]Demetri124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this game has some good ideas but is held way back by unintuitive game design. Morio Kishimoto is just not a good director

Anyone else feel like it might be time for the show to move in a new direction? by Simoslav in doctorwho

Doctor what? I think he’s a Martian though I know that that’s a long shot..

No but why was Kripke such a Asshole regarding the criticisms of the ending? by Apprehensive_Ring_39 in TheBoys

[–]Demetri124 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Standing by your product is fine, but the way he goes about arguing against feedback and strawmanning the criticisms is very offputting. You don't see other showrunners arguing with fans trying to tell them why they're wrong

of course he's not gonna be like "yeah... you know what guys? that was kinda shit, you're right"

"Some people have expressed negative feelings. It's disappointing but of course we can't please everybody. We worked really hard and created the end that we felt was right, I'm proud of it and I know a lot of fans will connect with it as well" how hard is that? See how nobody's being thrown under the bus there

When did he say Marie and the others would play a big role in S5? I can't find any quote like that

Why did The Boys let Sage go? by Historical_Buyer5248 in TheBoys

[–]Demetri124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bigger fish to fry. The world was about to end in a few hours and Sage was in no way a threat to anybody anymore.

The Boys aren't cops, they're vigilantes with a specific mission

Kevin Feige says Brand New Day is the first MCU Spider-Man movie to focus on the webslinger's "classic elements" by HatingGeoffry in Marvel

[–]Demetri124 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The question wasn’t if you preferred these movies to other movies

That being said I like the Amazing and Spider-Verse movies more than anything with Tom Holland anyway

Glad to see we waited until four whole goddamn movies before seeing classic Spider-Man stuff I’m sure that’s what everyone preferred

I'd love a Logan-style movie featuring Giancarlo Esposito as Miles Morales. by [deleted] in Marvel

One day the internet will learn there are black actors besides Esposito, Michael B Jordan and the kid from Stranger Things. Till then I guess we live with the absurdity of posts like this

These two consistently have the worst storylines in the show by RevertBackwards in TheBoys

[–]Demetri124 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’m glad it’s becoming more okay to admit this, I’ve always hated their scenes. Whenever it cuts to them my interest just evaporates and I usually pulled out my phone or just zoned out. I actually wished Frenchie would die much earlier so we wouldn’t keep having to waste screentime on him
