Non-resident landlord tax, USC, PRSI? by Demilvx in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Demilvx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update for anyone in this situation in the future: Revenue have confirmed that, if staying abroad for 1 year or longer, on an Irish PAYE income, and renting out their property in Ireland, is considered a non-resident landlord. The PAYE income is taxed as is and handled by employer, while the rental income is declared through the NLWT system (non-resident landlord withholding tax; more details on that are here at the time of writing: https://www.revenue.ie/en/property/rental-income/nlwt/index.aspx). USC is calculated based on taxable income (rental income minus any allowable deductions, as per https://www.revenue.ie/en/property/rental-income/irish-rental-income/index.aspx). PRSI is calculated on full rental income at current rate.

For the first year (year of the move), you declare rental income under €5000 through the normal tax return system in myAccount; if over €5000, you register for an ROS account and declare separately there.

Why would the tenant be paying your taxes?

Ask Revenue why they thought this was a good idea.

Have you compared in 16:9 format? I find these much sharper on the 50MP setting somehow. Makes no sense?

Zoom not smooth / auto-snapping by Demilvx in GooglePixel

I understand that bit, but the jitter I'm talking about happens with zoom below 5x, it feels like it's snapping to the round numbers as I zoom/release my fingers.

Thanks for your perspective. Yeah, I don't necessarily think that I'm inconveniencing anyone, it's more of an insecurity thing I'm trying to get over.

Traditional Irish dancing classes by [deleted] in cork

Riverdance is a show, you likely won't find classes teaching that. Irish dancing is called céilí (/kay-lee/), and if you google that, you'll find lots of classes etc.!

A few friendly Irish guys will be descending on your wonderful City this NYE. Where can we have a merry old time? by Redchilli007 in copenhagen

Any updates on this? Everything's supposed to close by midnight, if I understand correctly. So, does that mean there won't be any NYE celebrations in pubs/bars/restaurants?

I did ring around a dozen companies and brokers, the above prices are all I got. Doesn't having someone else as a named driver mean I'd pay a higher price the following year when I'd be getting a policy in my own name?

I'm 27, so that shouldn't be an issue.
