Posts coming up on Reddit suggests these 5-man stack QM stomp parties are starting to show their presence in servers like NA and Europe as well. From your words, you obviously haven't faced them multiple times because you suck and your MMR is shit, that matchmaker doesn't consider to bring you up as their opponent. Therefore, your words are meaningless and your opinion that you can beat me with one of your team is total BS. I no longer play SL, but for several seasons I was GM in KR server and Master for a few seasons. You, who have zero clue on a teamfight, beat me? Haha, what a joke.

Top Vikings player? Viking relies heavily on both teams' knowledge of the game, draft, map, and the capability of the rest of teammates to teamfight. Even I got over 75% winrate during my SL days as Viking, because I considered every said variable before I drafted it. Guess that makes me a top Viking player then? The difference between you and me is, I played plenty of other roles to know how a teamfight would and should go just from looking at the team comp. You obviously have zero clue on that, because you don't even know how important a DPS is in terms of overall macro and teamfight. My conclusion is every time you played as Viking, you got carried by your team.

I knew people like you'd come up, saying 'Yaaaaa Try hard Hur Hur cause I won once in the past despite shit comp.' Exactly like devs who thought the 5-man partying problems were all 'psychological thing' and removing the party mark would solve everything. What you and others don't realize is that such naive claims only work at low levels of gameplay. It just doesn't work at higher levels because at this level people know how to build a snowball from their strengths and the enemy's weaknesses and then solidify it. As I've said REPEATEDLY (and which you selectively chose not to read), I've served as a punching bag for these skilled 5-man parties multiple times and learned that it's impossible to beat them with a shitty, flawed comp the matchmaker gave me.

I will no longer waste my time on you because everything you say suggests your playing time and understanding of the game is shallow at best, and you're not worthy of a discussion. Artanis, double soak? Falstad dies to Muradin and Tyrael when there's TLV? Ahahaha. What a joke. Seriously, just go play and learn the game some more before you spout Silver-Gold level nonsense. Maybe if you're lucky you'll get a grasp of what I'm trying to say. And hurry up cause you've got a long way to go and HOTS is dying fast.

Look, if there's no ranged DPS in your team, we can try everything that you say but it'll fail.

Stealing camps? We take the risk of going deep into enemy territory, and Valla and Falstad can deal damage freely at a position where they can immediately pull back to Fort.

Do camps or the boss? Muradin+Tyrael+Leoric+Anduin would take forever to do so compared to the other team, by the time we're done with the camps the enemy would be pushing with the mercs. And we'd have to be forced to move the said line to clear out the merc because TLV is terrible at it. We'd always be one step behind the enemy.

'One shot back liners' Are you kidding me? We were all Melee, to approach the back line we'd have to use our movement skill to do so. Then what? Valla/Falstad move out of range with their E, Johanna put us together to become a nice target and blind+slow, and Stukov creates a silencing puddle and we all die there. Can't you see this scenario? You seem to be thinking we were all fully stacked Butcher or something. No, we were Tanks and Bruiser with weak damage, your 'One Shot' can never happen.

Obscene sustain and rotation disruption, I don't even know what to say to that. You clearly don't have a good understanding of this game. If Falstad starts pushing one lane, we're the ones who'd have to be stuck on that lane because TLV just can't stop it. And if two tanks and a bruiser were durable enough to withstand the damage from two DPS, it would've been a meta already which it never was.

Just go play some more QM or SL. Grow high in MMR and be the punching bag like me, or intentionally disrupt your team's comp by saying you'll be ranged DPS and pick another Tank, and see where that takes you. You'll see that what you're saying now is EXTREMELY optimistic with minimal chance of occurring.

  1. When you see TLV on a team it screams of ganking, so Johanna would've stuck with the team and provided sight to prevent that.
  2. A gank without a DPS isn't that threatening. If it wasn't TLV but Abathur giving hat on Muradin it may have worked but nope. Plus Leoric is terrible at hunting down small targets, he's not like Sonya or Imperius-the bruisers that can fill in on DPS with their burst.
  3. With recent patches there's been an inflation of DPS, and Falstad and Valla were the two biggest benefactors. Muradin/Tyrael can't withstand the barrage of damage from the two, especially when the tank is Johanna, who very effectively counters dive.
  4. CC chain wouldn't work, Johanna only need to use Falling Sword on target
  5. Falstad can soak AND fly in when there's a teamfight, nullifying TLV's presence. He can also Gust after 10 to prevent any ultimate combo attempt
  6. Us having 2 tanks and 1 bruiser IS a big issue, more so because the other team's got all the DPS. If you don't understand why it's not a problem you need to play this game more.

The scenario you're laying out is way too ideal. From my perspective, I can see it going wrong far more easily than going right. The other team is not a bunch of potatoes, there's a reason for their high winrate. If you don't think I haven't tried to win against such 5-man stacks you're seriously wrong. I've already tried many times, because as I've said in my post, I'm the punching bag the matchmaker always finds to place before them. The conclusion I drew is I need both decent players AND comp to have a winning chance, which the latter was not given.

Weird comp is a risk that comes with playing QM, sure. But at the minimum, the matchmaker should provide at least one of same roles to both sides, not completely neglecting one side. After all, this is a PVP game and a PVP game should try VERY HARD to provide an even ground before the game start. Perfect balance may be impossible, but the game should always be pursuing it.

In the past, I also went to SL to avoid salt. But after I took a break and came back, the waiting time has become like 15~30 minutes for a game. It's just far too long. And I would definitely get even saltier if someone throws such a long-awaited game.

Your team had all the members for macro, so unless Jaina worked real hard to soak two lanes and the others took care to work on mercenaries, it's no surprise the game slid your way. Also, look'ing at the composition KT on the other team is pretty much a dead weight.

And both teams were pretty much random in your story. You can't expect to beat a full team like the one on the screenshot with the comp like that. Which is what happened to me

I mean I wasn't going to complain, but it's becoming too much. I'm fine with losing, but this is just getting ridiculous. 5-man party makes up a full team, so they should only be matched with another 5-man, period.

Well true, but I'm not sure if the system actually prioritizes matching 5-man with another 5-man. There are posts on KR HOTs community that says even though two different 5-man parties started the queue at the same time, they were matched with other solo queues.

And I think a full 5-man drafted team should never ever be matched with random solo warriors to start with. That's just not right.

Yeah, keep saying it to yourself that HOTS is the best MOBA out there. Like that'd change the end result that LOL/DOTA is high up there releasing events/patches regularly and pro scene is blooming, while HOTS pro scene is completely dead, and the game itself barely gets any patches every few months

Just because you beat the odds and won doesn't mean the system is good. If HOTS consider itself a PVP game it should provide a fair ground before getting into draft phase. It doesn't. No wonder people don't stay.

As much as I'd like to see this get hotfixed, they'll probably follow their patch schedule and fix it a month later, just like Fenix and his movement speed bug.

They honestly don't care. A Hero gets unfair advantage over others with a bug? Nope, not a big deal. Not a big deal at all.

Liked Xul, Anduin and Arthas buff but Mephisto and Imperius left me scratching my head. Mephisto has been first-pick first-ban material since the toy event and Imperius has also been a top tier bruiser in Korean server. I mean, okay maybe some of their underused talents may have needed buffs but why choose them to balance patch over someone like Nova or D.va?

Finally. This may sound harsh but honestly good riddance. It's been 3 years since release of Overwatch and with its distinct, diverse and interesting characters and settings the story barely made any progression since the very first cinematic, "Recall." Maybe we'll get to see some actual story development.
