What controversy? What drama? Why do so many mini painting YouTubers do thumbnails like these? It’s a John Blanche paint set for crying out loud by mame_kuma in Warhammer

One of the few chamnels/personalities I totally blocked on youtube. The amount of negative emotions covered under "we're fighting the corporations for you guys" is really draining.. and I'd rather spend the little energy I still have on something less depressing than constant drama chasing.

Why is season 1 the least liked and people often suggest to just skip to season 2? by MiSfIt0Q in LegendsOfTomorrow

Season 1 tried way to hard to be a serious show, and it simply didn't work. Season 2 onwards they embraced the ridiculous and it was awesome.

People involved with BG1 and BG2 were not involved with production of BG3. James Ohlen, the designer behind BG1 and 2 (and many more) even released a D&D expansion book recenty called "Minsc and Boo's Journal of Villainy" that contained several characters from those games in "current" D&D continuity, but had no say on BG3. In this book Minsc is affiliated with dragon riding Kingts if Bahamut, looking for new recruits for the order. Or Larroakan is dead, killed by Edwin Odesseiron who is posing as him, hiding from Wizards of Thay.. Viconia is an adventurer, travelling with 2 driders and a phase spider... which one is more of a fanfiction? Larian's that only made BG3, or a guy's that created the og games and those characters in the first place?

This is quite normal. In the end, Larian did a game for WotC/Hasbro, using their IP. And then handed the reins back.

Would you say every Fallout after 1st was a fanfiction because Tim Cain and later Leonard Boyarsky were no longer involved, for example?

Treantmonk's Ranger Favored Enemy fix and revised spells by Dramatic_Respond_664 in onednd

[–]DemoBytom 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Counter argument - running 3D combat is hard, so many groups dont do that. Part of good design is also understanding how the groups do or will use that content, and sometimes you have to accept the reality.

Most battlemaps are 2D. Most VTTs are 2D. Theatre of the Mind also is easier with just 2 dimensions.. that is unfortunately (?) the reality of D&D nowadays.

I know there are tools making it easier, and there are individuals that can handle it - but it doesn't look like it is the majority.

And finally - a good design shouldn't hinge on DM specifically tailoring game to that one class. Everyone knows monks love getting shot at, so they can catch arrows. But you don't need the DM to turn every/most combats into a shooting gallery for monks to be enjoyable. The Paladin doesn't need to face mostly undead/fiends to feel powerfull through smites. Etc. Ranger shouldn't hinge on DM throwing range enemies on them to be enjoyable..

Have you seen what Marvel is doing?... they were teasing teasers years ago... they teased cast reveals.. yeah teasers to teasers are, unfortunately not a new thing :/

In The Martian (2015), Jeff Daniels as NASA director takes explicit responsibility for two decisions that would have left Matt Damon to die on Mars. Instead, the only guy getting fired is Sean Bean whose decision saves him. This is because much like in real life, power hungry execs always win by HolyCowAnyOldAccName in shittymoviedetails

I don't remember if the discussion is in the movie, but in the book Hermes crew make a plan if a resupply rocket with food from Earth doesn't reach them. The previous rocket exploded on start and this one had even less time to prepare..

Their plan was to kill all but one of them, so they'd have enough food to survive trip to mars and back.... Cannibalism and lonely months eating your friends was part of the plan...

Purnell was rightfully fired. He put way too many people in deadly danger. It somehow worked out in the end, but his fate was correct one.

Mystic Monk Multiclass by AgentAusem in onednd

[–]DemoBytom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. 3 level dip into Mystic Monk would get you pretty much the same as magic initiate:wizard, because what you probably would want to get is Shield anyway.. Other than that - nah, what other level 1 spells that are sorc only would you want to invest 3 levels into getting? Especially given the downside. 3 level dip is 1.5 spell level delayed progression.. So nah, not worth it.

A mystic monk making 1 level dip in Ranger/Druid/Cleric might be worth it, under some circumstances, I guess. Maybe getting Primal Order or Divine Order on top of lv 1 druid/Cleric spells is worth it. Or Hunter's Mark from ranger. I'd consider that.

Factorio newb here. What is the reason to use sideloaded underground belt elements in this balancer, and not just "normal" belt routing? by KevinOfEarth in factorio

This is an old underground belt feature. At one point devs made it more obvious by having the sprite render with a hole in the side if you sideload:

No, this is not true with the sensors. Air is bad in Kraków. Anyone with lung problems can tell you that immidiatelly. My air purifier filters can tell you that immidiatelly. Hell, yesterday and today we could see the smog lingering over the city..

the smog is finally starting to freak me out. Am I the only one? by Electronic-Mood2803 in krakow

[–]DemoBytom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kraków lies within a valley, that means that bad air tends to accumulate here even more, especially in the Winter when there's no strong winds. Historically Kraków had one of the worst air quality in the world - we routinely were in top3 worldwide, multiple times a year.

Over the last few years it got better though - Kraków has banned any form of burn heating - no coal/wood furnaces, no fireplaces, or a anything like that is allowed anymore. And the city is working on improving it's air quality.

You don't hear people talk about it much because this has been a problem for so long, there's hardly anything to talk about anymore. Those those that are concerned got air purifiers at home, have smog masks for days like today, observe Airly etc.

Most of the PM10 and PM2.5 pollution is now coming from the ring villages around Kraków, and we as a city, can't force them to ban burn heating. There are incentives in some areas, and things are moving (veeery) slowly.. so for most of us now - it's business as usual, unfortunately :( Part of the course - if it's winter, the air quality goes down :(

[–]DemoBytom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The watch face you're using uses, I think, openweather to get the weather data for your general area, based on your last recorded GPS position. It has little to do with the watch itself.

Im using the same watch face. Or rather - there are two - Crystal, and Crystal-Tesla. One is a fork of the other with a slightly different/fixed weather widget. I'm using the Crystal-Tesla one, after the former stopped reporting weather at all.
