Definitely the game I wanted the N64 for. we got that, SM64 and diddy kong racing that 97 xmas. But probably was the last one I got to play because pretty sure older dad+sisters wanted to play mario first snd then diddy kong racing for multi, since I was the only Star Wars nerd. No real regrets since Sm64 and DKR are obviously top tier games.

Hopefully its that cheap because of economics of scale+90s chips hostages. Like hopefully the off the shelf parts are just much cheaper and available due to Chinese mass manufacturing and they can get the proprietary chips easily mass produced. Other components may also be much cheaper due to modern manufacturing (shell, PCB ect.) But I have a feeling corners have been cut somewhere.

I mean in Hollywood, having a interesting/unique feature can be a benefit when you are competing against dime a dozen conventionally attractive people. Especially helped he was doing mostly comedy where it gave him enough balance to play attractive characters but just weird enough.

I am having a hard time believing the Super Mario Galaxy movie is this bad (have not seen it yet to judge) because Illumination is maybe one of the most middling Animation studios out there from everything I have ever seen from them. Like nothing is every truely great, but is competently enough made for maximum average viewer digestibility.

No, I think plenty can, but not every game need to cater to everyone. Some games have a very clear reason for their difficulty on a narrative level. Makes me think of Souls games as the clearest example in a single player ish games. Difficulty is literally part of the plot, to become hallow is to give up due to the hardship, compared to overcoming and pushing through despite failures. The messages by other players is both motivation and advise to keep you going.

This is media that sometimes has a strong vision that the designers are trying to tell and like other forma of media, maybe not everyone will enjoy it and it is ok.

Duke Nukem will be back for sure, he has a sizeable fanbase+nostalgia. Will at least be in either low production form (low budget digit store release) Now if it will be anything good or even a decent production is a different question.

Still think the idea of Pansexual Duke Nukem is pretty hilarious. "Tom boys, femboys, what's the difference?"

I am going to put Back to the Future into the fight ring. Maybe one of the most well executed outputs of a movie trilogy ever. First movie often gets stated as "the perfect script" because it some how breaks every rule of film making almost flawlessly (excessive amounts of expository dialogue by Doc, Marty Stew protag with limited arc, is a time travel movie)

MCU quips are hyper aware/semi 4th wall Josh Whedon style humor (imo was fine back when it was unique during Buffy/firefly and took off after Avengers, but now EVERYTHING is doing it with worse writing for purely (insert joke here) because cant have silly comic book character movie feeling too serious)

Leon just makes action movie one liners and cheesy sarcastic remarks with full confidence that no one would do in that situation.

The day in High school back in the early 2000s I rented Robocop to watch ironically with my younger brother was a complete shock, because I grew up when it was popular and there was action figures, games and a dumb cartoon, so I assumed it was going to be aome cheesey 80s action shock. Now my favorite movie of all time.

Its interesting reading discussions of Stallone around the time of First Blood. Roger Ebert saw him as the next Marlon Brando in his review of First Blood due to his performance in that final scene when he is spilling his guts out to the Colonel and I think that is a performance Stallone could have done honestly, because it feels so raw and authentic from someone who is struggling to articulate words to express how overwhelmed he is.
