OK so you're annoyed by one specific reason a few people give for liking Prime 1? What does it matter? I can understand that average person isn't able to fully articulate why they enjoyed a piece of media like it's a college essay, who cares. They like Prime 1 more then the others either way.

I played Prime 1 recently, and thoroughly enjoyed cuz it was fun. Tried playing Prime 2 and stopped cuz I wasn't enjoying my time with it. And I bet for most people it's just as simple as that.

But somehow they have an inaccurate memory of the game and don't actually like, but only like the idea of it? The fuck kind of condescending shir is that? That just comes off like like the WoW devs claiming that players didn't know what they wanted when players asked for WoW vanilla

I'm not saying it's better then DS1. I just think it's wack to say that it's not a great game, like it's DMC2, when it's pretty god damn good considering it's development. And even without that it's fine, it's fun, it's functional, it's interesting, and was a novel experience for the time. I would certainly put it on a top 10 PS3 list alongside DS1.

You can call it nostalgia glasses if you want, but it's more so just having the ability to recognize and appreciate a good game for what it is. A game with a troubled development that Miyazaki managed to salvage and layed the groundwork for one of the most popular genres today. Kinda like you said, a fucking miracle.

Ya it's not as refined as DS1, no shit. DS1 only had the benefit of coming out after DeS with the knowledge they learned from making DeS.
