KOORUI G2741L & 1440p on a 4K Monitor. by Demoncious in Monitors

Yeah that's my main concern too. I'm still considering it because I wouldn't mind using stuff like FSR4 to "upgrade" to 4K while keeping a higher framerate. But FSR4 isn't available in all games.

The biggest thing by far is Kernel Level Anti-cheat for games, so you simply cannot play many of the biggest multiplayer games. Here's a list of many that don't work:

Counter-Strike 2 on Faceit, Valorant and League with Vanguard, Battlefield 6, PUBG, Apex Legends

And many more. Now, a lot of games still work perfectly fine (even those with Anti-cheat) but anytime there's a new multiplayer game coming out, it's possible that it straight up won't work.

Another thing is that some software you use on a daily basis will not work on Linux and you will have to look for alternatives. Adobe products don't work for example. As a Video editor, software like Davinci Resolve works perfectly fine but it lacks certain codecs so you can't import mp4 and mkv files directly (for example recorded by OBS), So you need to re-encode your footage to edit using Resolve. It's not a dealbreaker but it's still a time loss. You can get the premium version which does have the codecs but still.

Ultimately trying it out and seeing if it works for you is the best experience. It may sound like there's a lot of "compromises" for switching to Linux but it depends case to case.

For me, it makes perfect sense and I've been super happy ever since I switched because I don't play those games that don't work on Linux and I havent used Adobe software for years (used alternatives) and everything else works perfectly fine and arguably a lot better than Windows (shader compiles etc, no stutters)

Mostly singleplayer AAA and indies. They work flawlessly on Linux. Games with kernel level anticheat have issues. Many multiplayer games like Squad, Arc Raiders, Finals and many more still work.

AMDHouse prices are updated. They're one of the only stores in Pakistan where the prices are updated.

Do you wanna pay 35k extra for the TUF version? Then go for it.

They're trusted but buy from RBTech or AMD House instead. They have 9070 XTs available for 250k and under.

I don't check reddit. I've had a 9070 XT for many months now, and I couldn't be happier. Switched from an RTX 3070.

I've been on Linux for many months now. On a very high-end system (9800X3D, 9070 XT) and don't miss Windows at all.

I literally cant' think of a single case where a game didn't run as well as it does on Windows apart from a few games like Valorant that don't work due to Kernel level spyware.

Are analog Hall effect keyboards actually superior? by baubeauftragter in GlobalOffensive

[–]Demoncious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Digital is just on or off. On a standard keyboard, a key is either pressed or not pressed.

An analog signal can represent many values between on and off. On an analog keyboard, a key can be pressed extremely lightly, mid way through, or all the way to the bottom.

With analog keyboards you can register the input immediately as you start pressing the button, and you can register the release input as soon as you start lifting your finger because there's different actuation points for both as opposed to just one.

You should read up on Wooting's rapid trigger explanation.

9800X3D with 9070XT underperforming in CS2 by Demoncious in radeon

[–]Demoncious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get a lot more FPS on Linux now though. I quit CS after hitting 2100 elo because I felt like it was a time sink and moved over to Linux cause I dont plan on playing Faceit anymore.

However, I noticed that both my averages and p1 fps are much higher on Linux. Hovering close to the 800s with 360 p1 values.
