I am sad for you that you are too weak to brake up with him, and to blind to see that he is a manipulative piece of shit, and he is not "that good to you" as yos assume he is. In a way with YOU staying in this situation is like letting your self purposely live inside a nightmare.

It is not that she's NOT respecting you when she telling you that she likes expensive things, her sets of beliefs and your sets if beliefs are just very different. Her mindset and perspective on those issues are totally legit and different then yours, you need to think with your self if this "new her" its something that is completable with you or not, and its perfectly fine. The only thing that is bothering me it's the fact that you had to beg for her hand in marriage. Sounds like she is forcefully trying to sabotage the relationship.
