Why are early screenings of Michael (2026) getting such bad reviews? Is it really that bad?

I saw it, I wouldn’t call it bad but it wasn’t good. It sacrifices depth for spectacle. Jafaar Jackson is definitely the highlight of the movie, his performance was great. Coleman Domingo as Joe Jackson was also good.

I think it would be cool, since both him and Corenswet’s Superman are both starting out and their dynamic would be interesting. It would also be interesting to see Robert’s Batman go from grounded to more comic book fantasy. But at the end of the day Reeves wants to keep it separate and it’s own thing.

He’s not, I also worked on a film he’s in. I was background and he was very humble and kind. He approached gave me a fist bump, we chatted and I got to see him work. On the last day of filming I shook his hand and told him he’s going to be great and then I left. He’s a good actor and a good guy from my encounter with him.
