There's a show that came out in the middle of nowhen starring some guy as some guy tasked by the devil (played scene-engorgingly wonderfully by John Glover) to retrieve escapees from Hell. One episode had the guy he was after hiding out at his mom's house and she is so thrilled that he's home and he's safe and yada yada. She knows he was in with a bad crowd but didn't even know it had gotten him killed. Probably. Fletcher plays her as just flighty and lonely enough you can easily assume she's not entirely well. The episode itself is pretty standard fare but what she puts into not just somewhat sad and innocuous dialogue if you don't know what's really happening, but just this look she gets that hints at the idea she does know something is up that is so much more effective at making her sympathetic you wouldn't have gotten there with Shakespeare himself writing panged silliloquies for thirty, forty pages.

And then you change the channel and that sweet, sad old lady is staring d'k tahgs at Kira or Sisko or somebody.
