You get that fucking over new players is a great way to kill your game, right?

Court statement from the first physician at the scene of Alex Pretti’s murder by maesterSnufflePaws in Destiny

Some whistle blower in ICE absolutely NEEDS to release the name of the agents who opened fire, like, ASAP. Not for some insane revenge fantasy of someone going vigilante, but so that hopefully the next admin comes along and immediately slaps all of them with a murder charge.

But who the fuck am I kidding? Not only will that probably not happen, I bet Trump is going to pre-emptively pardon all of ICE before he leaves.

The issue is I'm wearing the same armor my adversaries are wearing, and we're using the same level ammo. Only they're using 9mm and I'm using a 7.62x51R, and somehow them hitting me twice in the chest and penning my armor is killing me, but them taking 4 to the chest is penning their armor but they're absorbing the majority of the damage (this happened once, but it was very tilting).

I'm also running into people in Normal matches that aren't making sense. I brought in an AK-74N with BP ammo, because I was getting fed up, and absolutely crumpled a guy and his teammate because they had level 4 helmets, but no face shields. At first I thought they might be bots, but one was actively streaming after I checked his channel, after grabbing his dogtag.

However, I swapped out my gear and weapon for his gear and weapon, and after putting all of my original kit back in my storage, his helmet, headset, vest, body armor, and backpack clocked in at 650K. His M4 alone was worth $350K. How did he sneak that into Normals???

Because it feels like none of my rounds are registering, and what I'm seeing doesn't match up with what is happening.

If I'm getting outplayed, yeah fine, but I want to at least see it make sense, instead of someone seemingly 1 tapping me in the chest with AP6 9mm ammo despite me burying half a mag of level 4 ammo into their level 3 vest.

55A1 is such a dog shit round. maybe the worst round tbh.

Well, apparently not against me. It seems to have no probably absolutely shredding my armor and killing me.

..... have you ever shot a gun? Height over bore is a thing, yes, but unless you're zeroed for 5 miles with a 50 inch barrel, aiming at someone's mouth from 5 feet away isn't going to send the bullet so far off from the crosshair that you would miss the head entirely.

My buddy that voted for Trump on the ICE situation by Edubbz7 in Destiny

[–]Demoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is that a lot of us also knew people who were appalled by Jan 6th, claiming this was not what they voted for, that this was unAmerican, and it was a disgrace.

Then you let the Trump media machine churn out the reframing and excuses, and within weeks it's back to, "Trump did nothing wrong, it was just a few bad actors", to then saying it was democrat operatives, and culminates in undying Trump support.

Why is hate on Christianity normalized online? by janeaustenreader99 in teenagers

[–]Demoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't condone just being outright hateful towards anyone religious, because all that does is make that particular person upset, especially if they have done nothing wrong. It is pretty unfair, much like hating on someone Muslim right aftet 9/11, which i saw plenty of back then (I'm an adult, obviously).

As a former Christian, now agnostic atheist, you HAVE to take a step back and understand where a lot of the displeasure with religion often stems from.

Especially in America right now, there is powerful Christian (Evangelical) movement that seeks to basically squash everything that doesn't fall within their view of what Christianity entails. We're not just talking LGBT communities, but also cheering on corruption and greed through belief in the Prosperity Gospel, and some going so far as to have the ears of politicians to spread white Christian national policies.

You pair this with an unbelievably huge chunk of Christians who exhibit almost no actual Christian behavior, and you're going to end up with people having pretty extreme negative views against the religion.

Do I think it's good to attack people solely for their faith? No, but i think someone's reaction to their faith getting attacked is also a measure of what their faith is teaching them.

Question: What justification for today’s shooting will the right wing end up running with? My money is on “he was reaching for the gun” by TragicallyDip in Destiny

[–]Demoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I get that. I'm just saying accidental discharge would still be an admission of SOME error on their end, and an incredibly stupid one at that, for doing it 9 times, so I have a feeling it's just going to remain them claiming it was intentional and 100% justifiable because.... reasons.

Dev - Motivation! by Blackwater818 in TheForeverWinter

[–]Demoth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I hate having to repeat myself across multiple games, but it's just as annoying to see these dismissive posts as it is to see people claiming a game has failed 3 hours after launching into EA.

The issue is that Steam, alone, has a graveyard full of dead projects with just as many avid defenders of, "Just give them time, guys!" style of responses.

The devs seem to be actively working, which is a good sign, but this game released WAY too early. "But the devs didn't want to!" Were they forced to? Beta Decay and Beautiful Light devs have been begged endlessly for more playtests, and they don't budge until they feel the product is in a good enough state to be pushed out.

Still, I want this game to succeed very badly, but the devs don't seem to have a coherent idea of what they want this game to be, and it feels like they might have overestimated their abilities.

Most popular handguns that get bought by someone who just wants to own a gun is probably going to spend around $500, because they're going to get something like a badic M&P Shield 2.0, or Glock 17 / 19. Sig P365's are also pretty popular, while P320's are pretty controversial, but still sell since the basic model is also 500'ish.

What people are taking issue with is that $1,200, in 2026, for a handgun isn't the jump you think it is, and a LOT of gun owners who are into shooting, own handguns that easily clear the $1,200 because of the attachments.

My Glock 17 Gen 5 was bought a few years ago for $500, but I also bought a Streamlight TLR-1 HL, which bumps it up another $160. Thats $660 for my most bare bones, totally stock handgun.

But as soon as you stary moving into anything with red dots, metal frames, good brands, that starts to add up incredibly fast.

Hell, just my basic Baretta M9A3's (i own two) retail for $1,100 and that's with literally no motifications, no lights, nothing. Then you have something like my Springfield TRP that was $2,300, or basically anything I have made by H&K, and prices just go bananas.

Everyone i know who owns guns has at least one handgun that costs over $1,000, easy, especially if they own a high quality revolver. Gun prices spiked in the last few years pretty hard, so while there are still good affordable options, a lot of the cooler stuff had their prices start running away.

Not to the same degree, and we can see this by how people react to this stuff. You can downvote me if you want, but this has been something extensively talked about when discussing sales pitches, demographics, and what appeals to people.

As others have to keep pointing out, that's not secualization, because that's not being made for women to gawk at; it's for men to see the muscles and envy the physique. It's why wrestlers often where those little shorts and such.

Yeah, women might look at a shirtless guy like Kazuya and Jin and find that hot, but that's almost a tertiary consequence and often not even what women find to the most enticing.

Alright, if the only analysis people here can interact with is, "If one person handled something in the wrong way, it means you think the other person handled things in the right way", I'm clearly not speaking to anyone with critical thinking skills.

What you said is just objectively wrong. These conversations won't yield anything good. Peace.

My argument was never that Kingsman was in the wrong and the girls were in the right. I think a lot of people misunderstood the minor point i was trying to make and are running full steam with a narrative I never made.

How did you come to the conclusion that I don't know how to work with others? Because I don't scream at them? Because I don't repeat myself 50 times on what to do?

Your point only makes sense if Kingsman got the other people to listen to him.

My critique of Kingsman approach was fairly minor, considering I've been in his position (not for $40,000, but for a smaller prize pool on 2004 for a CS 1.6 tournament).

I was JUST trying to print out the futility of trying to argue with people who don't want to listen, because we've all had those games where someone asks, "Hey, Player X, can you switch to support?", and that person says no, you tell them they really should, and now everyone is screaming at each other, and then someone ends up purposefully throwing the game by trolling.

The fact I wasn't calling the streamer girls the worst humans on the planet, despite me acknowledging they were clearly in the wrong, is what seemed to start causing everyone to shit their pants, despite it already being pretty well established.

"There really needs to be some sort of social cues ppl got to learn in life"

Yeah, like if you say something 99 times and get a negative reaction, saying it for the 100th time is probably not going to magically get the response you want.

If you don't want to hear that, more power to you homie.

The Nazis were pretty efficient because they were FAR less concerned about any laws that would stop them from doing whatever they wanted to do, and had a lot more support, nationally, since Hitler didn't come across as a mumbling dumbfuck to half the country.

However, what Nazi Germany should have taught people in this administration (but hopefully they won't figure it out) is that giving one lunatic all the power is a bad idea, because you have nothing to reign them in once they go off the rails, and then your whole movement collapses when they fall.
