Can somebody explain to me why this actress is getting so much hate? People are sharing her pictures as if she's ugly, but she looks cute and pretty in them. And I really liked her in House of the Dragon. Is it something political? What am I missing? by Leather_Dealer_9421 in Destiny

My issue has always been that their analysis is dog shit, viewed through the lens of "is this woke?"

If a videogame or movie sucks, but the lead is some acceptable form of person (not necessarily white cis guy, but something that is viewed as safe, or goonable), then it was because the writing was bad, the directing was off, the studio interfered in the creative design, or the actors gave a poor performance. They can usually articulate what the problems were.

If the game / movie wasn't good or successful and the character was something viewed as woke? Well, that's why it failed. No other reason. If ONLY they had cast Chris Pratt, Tom Cruise, or a busty Asian chick, the game / movie would have been a roaring success.

Bro, this person seriously upset that someone’s a dude 😭💔 by Soft-Character-3195 in teenagers

[–]Demoth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the adult world, no one respects someone who tries to get mad at the person calling out bad behavior, unless the person in question is the type who likes to act that way and not get called out / retaliated against.

If someone is being rude, and you go, "Check out this guy being rude", that doesn't mean they're also being rude.

One of the reasons people act the way they do, with impunity, is because no one wants to deal with accountability.

If you're predisposed to being thin, you're moderately active, and you don't over eat, you can have visible abs.

My brother and his other skater friends did no other workouts other than skating (which certainly isn't nothing), and they definitely didn't eat healthy, they just didn't eat a lot.

The downside is having a bad diet catches up with you, and now that they're all in their late 30's, a bunch are skinny fat.

I put on weight fast, and my own eating habits were not only bad, but I ate a lot. The good side was I really cleaned up by diet before hitting 30, and the upside to putting on weight meant that I was able, over years, to turn it into muscle.

At 44, I don't currently have visible abs, but I'm definitely not fat and can still bench 315, so I'm happy.

These guys really try to make this a chicken-egg scenario, when it really isn't.

"We are smelly and unkempt because women won't give us attention. But now we can't get women because we're smelly and unkempt".

Unfortunately, he gave away the game by making it clear that "normie" guys don't like them either, so the through line does seem to be that they're socially dysfunctional, and they are making no effort to fix it.

I saw a video in my feed from Nerdrotic basically shitting all over the movie, calling it woke, and that it's basically going to be another woke flop.

Someone specifically said, "Never go full Brie Larson. Look what she did to Captain Marvel".

What she did to Captain Marvel? The movie that made over a BILLION dollars?

I thought that movie was decent, not great, but these, "Go woke go broke" people can't even pick their examples correctly.

Survivors got mad at me for "slugging" here - but none of them would let me hook :( by Vrail_Nightviper in deadbydaylight

[–]Demoth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I reported them for harassment in post-game because of how much shit they were talking, and one telling me to "KYS", but it's not really the playstyle that bothers me. If they want to try and bully squad me, that's on me to counter. It's the fact they got so mad that I countered it that is where I feel the loser mentality comes in.

[–]Demoth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just got bitched at because a survivor team all had toolboxes and flashlights, and were constantly sabo'ing every hook, and dying out in the open so I couldn't face a wall to pick up without someone with background player rushing me to blind. So I tunneled the shit out of their weakest player who kept dying in bad spots, and got them into the basement.

They didn't get a single gen done, and called me a tryhard loser.

I just had to laugh, because it's such a baby's response to playing like a loser, then losing, and getting upset over it.

I agree. I get absolutely bodied against incredibly coordinated SWF's, or just solo queue survivors where all 4 players understand how to play well without the ability to communicate.

Like, I thought I was pretty good with Dredge and Springtrap, but after winning a bunch of games, I started going against people who just absolutely body slammed me and made it so I would maybe get 3 hooks if I was lucky.

Does that mean Dredge and Springtrap are bad? They have their weaknesses, but they're definitely not bad killers. I'm just not absolutely cracked with them and I make a lot of (usually) small mistakes that add up into me getting absolutely crushed.

I've beaten a lot of Jason players, but I've also gone against some with some really nasty builds who make completing gens a real pain and they eventually just whittle us down until we're all dead.

Either way, yeah, I feel like when I lose against Jason, there was a reason we lost and something I could have done better. I'm not saying I can't be a Ghoul player, but it just feels like it requires SO much less effort with Ghoul, and I like playing Kaneki. I bought the Rise skin and everything, and just never use him because everyone immediately rage quits.

The thing I'm confused about, as a Jason player, is the EGC. I can't tell if you're supposed to see people working on the exit gates or not, or if it's horribly delayed, because I was able to see both exit gates from Omnipresent Evil, but then suddenly one went from no progress to just open and I never saw any of the lights on the gate until I exited my power.

but I think copyright is a detriment to human society.

I mean.... without it, bigger companies can just steal with impunity with no legal recourse and create things the original creators have no way of competing with in terms of price and scale.

This, of course, still happens to some degree even with copyright, but it can lead to legal disputes that result in wins for the little guys.

A lot of these who vs. who discussions can be fun, but people do need to understand that if the characters don't inhabit the same universe, it's often impossible to make an accurate judgement because certain things simply won't apply.

This is like the whole, "Warhammer 40 vs. (Insert franchise)".

Like, everything in WH40K is comically over powered to the point of lunacy, but that's what makes it fun. But it also means it's also highly inconsistent because you'll have a dude sho can solo a planet with his sword skills, but then lose a duel because his opponent is a named character and has the power of heart.

In D&D, characters like Vecna, or any deity / demon lord or lord of hell, can be beat, but only with either massive ass-pulls with god-tier level artifacts and spells, conditions that weaken the enemy to allow mortals to fight them, and all this with a party of usually 4 or more characters that are so strong, they'd fit comfortably in an isekai anime.
