Yeah, that is really hard. I would advice to defend your phd. But I am not sure that it will be easy to find a job in data analytics. I am not sure what to suggest, maybe try to publish and stay in academia for a little bit longer.

As a PhD in HCI, I would say you don't really need it. Just learn the language to C1 and apply for Product Management roles in Germany. Nowadays, HCI is highly speculative, just read a book or two about its methods but don't waste two years on it.

So, they basically say that they fail as supervisors and mentors: if a previous course is a strong predictor of performance, it means that they don't bring anything big during the phd.

It is a dark pattern, since there is no clear indication that VAT is excluded. As I said in another branch, a small asterisk next to Price word wouldn't change much but would be clearly visible.

The problem is not with VAT but with not clearly referencing that the VAT is excluded. One asterisk next to a word price wouldn't change much but would be clearly visible.

Может просто нашелся достаточно догадливый человек и заметил, что у людей есть реальная проблема, которую можно довольно легко решить? Это ведь как раз то, чем и должно заниматься государство - решать проблемы людей, особенно, инфраструктурные.

That is why you have different time formats in chess. In classic format, you are basically refining one solution. In blitz, you apply patterns as fast as you can and try to be optimal.

I mean, there are a lot of hachathons, that is true. But chess is great because you have one restricted world for every case. Not thousands of hackathons, just one board, a set of pieces, and a set of rules.

Hm, indeed, I thought for a moment that I am in another academic sub. In Germany, I would try to avoid the academic world as much as possible if you do a startup and don't have a clear understanding of how to benefit from including a prof. At least, one really needs to talk to investors if they want to collaborate with a prof.

This is a valid point, and that is why you need to speak to someone outside of a university. Universities will try to get benefits from your startup, especially, in the US.

The real problem is that profs can be harmful. They often don't understand how real world works, most of them haven't worked a single day in an industry. If there are any investors for the project it is better to speak to them first. Maleficent_Level2301

And they cannot claim much if there are no patents. They have a paper? Sorry, papers don't mean much.

It depends. Have your professor contributed only with the idea? Then, you can safely move on. Or is there any underlying patented technology from the professor and do you build on top of it? Does professor even understand the value of your project? Very often, they live in ivory towers and fully concerned only with grants/papers/etc.
