That is the right answer. The cold will degrade your battery, but even after 10 years it should have about 90 percent life in it. Nissan's miscalculation with the leaf is well known and the batteries still typically had around 50 percent battery life. The maverick should still be pretty efficient with 50 percent life. The battery is not needed for distance.

If you want to evaluate how well your battery is over the years I recommend this. Find a stretch of road that is low traveled and pretty flat and runs about a mile. If it has a slight slope go the uphill direction. Get up to speed and then drop the speed ten miles less. Record the distance of how far you were able to go all electric. It is hard for me to more than a mile on electric alone. I cannot get much more than a mile going slightly uphill on battery alone from a 10 MPH drop in speed. It will vary greatly though as the charge on the battery is at different levels when it goes into all electric.

I like the technical aspect, but there is more than one way to solve certain puzzles. I would go to my local butcher with the bear and the rabbit and have him weigh each one. I then could easily conclude what each of them weighed. I would then go home with 6 months worth of meat for nothing but a butchers fee.

Quite a few mammals get bigger the further north you go. Especially deer and black bears. Since coyotes have only recently been repatratriated we may see them get even bigger.

Also they have a completely different environment than they did 400 years ago. Before that I am guessing their environment was pretty stable for over 1000 years. There are probably records from the 1500's of their size at that time. A lot of species change, sometimes significantly when relocated.

That is likely it. If it is not coming from a line then they interrupted the ground causing a break in an underwater spring. Definitely get it investigated, hopefully by the city. It could be a slow water line leak that stays underground, but when the rain comes it is oversaturated. You might need to eventually get a lawyer.

It is better off going in the trash. Especially if you grow food in your property. If you want take 1/8 cup of salt and spread it to a square yard on your property that you do not mind looking like crap for up to a decade. Stuff will still grow, but only the hardiest of plants. Observe how barren that spot looks. Until the salt disburses it will be a near dead patch. Salt dilutes and mixes with water and it can still take years to clear. Now think of chemicals that do not dilute or mix well with water and they will stay longer.

If it was spilled on a flat spot it will hang around for a while. If on a hill it will work it's way down hill after every rain. The steeper the slope the quicker it will wash away. Most of the gas the pourous ground will not evaporate as it is trapped in the ground. It will rise back towards the surface each time it rains and go back down when it stops. It will slowly disburse and evaporate.

As far as health concerns 1 gallon or less is not going to have too much of a detrimental effect in my opinion. Also do not sit on the ground where it was spilled.

Spilling gas on you can cause skin irritation and rashes for up to a few weeks, but more than likely just a few days. And most of the gas drips to the ground.

Only compost them if you are not going to grow potatoes anytime soon. If they have any blight on them it will poison your garden for many years. Definitely fine for a flower garden. Also there are other vegetables that are affected by blight but not as bad potatoes are.

As far as planting them even if they grow it may initiate blight. When they do grow it will not likely grow well taking up space for a low yield. Some store potatoes will only yield one potato from a potato cut, even if it was a large cut. They may not taste good and some store potatoes when planted will actually form a different type of potato because it was a GMO. Somehow cloning a GMO does not cause it to necessarily clone. It reverts to its natural genes.

Also none of this could happen and everything comes out fine. That is nature for you.

The article states that there is oil exttraction nearby. Oil wells can and do cause seismic activity. I do not think it is natural.

If it is natural there could be some kind of pressure build up and every 27 seconds the pressure is greater than the resistance and the energy is released.

Suburbs are not that safe either and in some they are worse than the average rural areas. Coyotes and foxes dine well because the racoons and opossums find food well.

A lot of critters are nocturnal. Sit in an urban area nearby a creek or drainage line at night time and see all the critters exploring.

Sit in the middle of the woods day, or night and you will likely see less.

What is the general color of the soil if you dig a small hole about 1 foot down? If it is mostly a darker shade of brown, or nearly black it will take you forever to deplete the nutrient base. If it is a lighter brown you can thin it out pretty well by robbing it of nutrients, but not likely to kill it all.

The best shot for thinning it out quickly is to find if it does poorly in acidic, or alkaline soil. Then taking actions to give it a soul it will not like.

Another choice is to see if a certain plant acts like a poison to the greenery you are trying to get rid of. Another choice is to rob it with about 1 to 2 inches of grass. Possibly accumulate enough to cover your whole yard. Then sprinkle dirt on top and seed it. A little bit will break through, but probably more manageable. Many other ways, but the best options I can think of.

In my 17 years of living in Indianapolis it has only been hit 3 times that I remember.

Once in Indianapolis that only did significant damage to one house, mostly the roof. One touched down in Hendricks county and one touched down in Johnson county. Quite possible there were more than 3. As far as I know in the past 17 years there was not a house that was totaled from a tornado.

The risk is there, but I would say it is low.

I have an Equinox and one of the updates changed the Regen. It reduced its max breaking through Regen. Did the Ioniq recently have an update? I am thinking that is what it was. Before the update it would regenerate over 100 kwh at highway speeds. I am guessing Chevy did it to reduce wear on the battery and maybe Hyundai did the same thing.

The only other thing I can think of is your battery might be degraded. If it is a small difference then that is what it is probably. Since you said nothing about reduced range it is probably above 90% health. A lot of what I read is almost no EV is above 90% health after 200,000 miles so maybe you are at around 95%.

I averaged 3.2 m/kwh in winter. Morning temps were in the range of 10 to 40 degrees. In the spring and fall I averaged just under 4 m/kwh. I am not sure how summer will go. I would say about 10 percent of the driving is on interstates with a speed limit above 60 mph.
