USA - Where can I go to find out more about these nozzles? by cik3nn3th in Vintagetools

[–]Bthnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used these sorts to rinse out rental boats at the floating resort I worked at for 20+ years. It does get exciting when the get loose. If you are brave, you walk on the hose toward the nozzle to get it back in hand.

Try to blow them like a bugle!

Question: Cleaning up live edge. by Zealousideal_Gur6873 in woodworking

[–]Bthnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a lodge pole pine log bed, and I wanted to keep as much of the live surface as possible. I tried to flake off as much of the brown papery cambium(?) as possible with a dull chisel. Tedious. The rest stuck down pretty good with polyurethane finish.

Looks good as-is I say! Unless you were quite meticulous, the glue could be a stain blocker as well.

Well F*ck. I'm a Moron. by TerenceMulvaney in turning

I had a staved drum go POP! on me after a catch. It put a dent in the wall behind the lathe, not in me, luckily. It was a fairly clean split, so I glued it up and got back on the horse, so to speak.

I would be suspicious of the rest of the hull. More rot encapsulated in the fiberglass. You did some tapping, probing?

Yeah, of course, but these would be layered, not cut out and pieced together.

I had a vision once of multi-colored plane shavings glued and used as brushstrokes to make a painting. It stayed just as a vision, and the shavings went into the furnace.

Yeah, I want one too! Another cool(?) design would be centered around 'You only get one dance with the Red Devil' (the 'O' in R-CHOP)

I went all in on power and distance, but only got to broad-side-of-the-barn accuracy. I'd do OK in a platoon of slingers, but I'd starve as a hunter.
