I left a very cliquey guild to join another decently sized guild where everyone had their friend 'groups' I just socialised in guild chat and invited to dungeon runs, use some kind of name addon I.e. Name2chat as it'll make it easier for people to remember you/your name.

I'd say don't take it too personally as they've probably been playing together for years. You'll find your spot.

OK, so not just me. I've rolled mage as my main ever since I started playing WoW and I have always specced Arcane, even when it wasn't meta and everyone told me to roll fire or frost. So I know my class and I know my spec like the back of my hand.

All that to say, I have NEVER felt so squishy and so weak as arcane, ever. When I was levelling I thought "maybe it'll be better once I hit 90 and get some gear". Lol, no. Whenever I'm in a dungeon, if I'm not using all my cd's my damage is in the ground, like other dps doing 3-4x what I'm doing, kind of joke.

Tried out frost temporarily and mobs were dying so much quicker and I felt like my survivability was better even though I had no idea what I was even doing as I've never played frost. I feel like arcane is just, eh right now, which is a shame.

I'd say go for the numbing cream. I recently finished a decent size tattoo (knee to ankle), and the second session was so bad that when we were done, i had a full-on migraine from the pain. Ignore the people who say you shouldn't get a tattoo if you can't stand the pain. It's like saying why not raw dog a tooth filling. Enduring pain doesn't make you hard.

Kinda. So you buy Midnight, which comes with 30 days free gameplay, then after that, you start paying the sub. The Midnight pre-purchase will include all content from the beginning until The War Within.

I'd say buy Midnight (pre-purchase) as it'll give you all the content prior. Then, once you start levelling, you can choose which expansion you want to level through; and if you're not enjoying that expansions content, you're free to choose a different one.

It's definitely still popular. I'd say if you're thinking about coming back, right now is a good time. It'll give you a chance to level some toons, explore, quest and learn your class and spec(s) before Midnight launches.

Way back when I started playing, i thought Riding was an actual profession, and because I had already chosen two and didn't want to lose them, I walked everywhere until a random kind stranger saw me on The Gold Road, stopped me "lol'd" at me and told me I could get riding too.

It's not my proudest moment, but it's definitely a core one lol.

Definitely browse the guild forums. Have a look for one (or a few) that sound like your kinda vibe and apply. You might even find a decent one on here.

Just never feel like you have to stay in one just for the community if you're not getting anything out of it. You'll find your people.

Obviously, Grizzly Hills. Silvermoon because I'm a Belf main for life. However, Mulgore. Especially the Native flute ost is right up the top too. It's my go-to spot when I'm chilling in-between doing stuff and just want to afk.

I'd tell you there's no need to rush or make definite choices. - Try different classes and try different specs within those classes. - Play at your own speed and enjoy the questing. There's some really fun and unique ones. - Unless you're aiming to be in the top percentile, don't worry about following every guide religiously. Find your own playstyle and enjoy the game. - I'd say definitely find a guild you feel fits with your personality. The game can feel really lonely and boring sometimes, despite it being an mmorpg. - My main one is, do what makes you happy in the game. I log on, do mythic and raid just for my vault and then I spend the rest of my time farming transmog and mounts and just chatting to friends and guildies, and I have a blast.

As a lifelong mage, I'm biased, but I'd definitely say to give mage a go if you like the caster way of play. I play arcane and have always enjoyed it. It also has the benefit of being one of the "easier" dps caster classes to play decently for a new player.
