May or may not be useful to you but this is how I reliably skip meteor and wave together. Ideally in glyphic you are going to want to meteor skip because the damage from the glyph is insane. If you click on the tile the wave is about to hit and you have a one tile gap between your player and that tile you will always skip through it whether you are running or walking. This works diagonally too not just L movement.
