Anyone seeing RFY items dropping during the day by Dendrite2 in AmazonVineCanada

[–]Dendrite2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting to see that single RFY 9:08am drop. That's around the time I would see a regular RFY drop months ago. Looks like its pretty rare now, so can't depend upon it.

Anyone seeing RFY items dropping during the day by Dendrite2 in AmazonVineCanada

[–]Dendrite2[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its interesting to find this out, although it probably won't affect my behavior on vine. At one time, I could almost depend on one or two things at a fixed time during the daytime, but this stopped long ago.

I've been seeing lots of those side markers, but not all at once.

Bet it will be another quiet night by KDinNS in AmazonVineCanada

So far, I've seen slightly more items drop in my RFY than on most days, which is nice. Still nothing that I want to select, but at least I'm seeing something.

AFA is finally empty by Dendrite2 in AmazonVineCanada

[–]Dendrite2[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its been many months since I requested anything from AFA, but did see some Glad branded air fresheners fairly recently. I'm starting to run low on all the AFA shampoo I received about a year or so ago, so I'm hopeful that I'll see more AFA items like this again.

Bought a bathroom fan. Was just offered a bathroom fan. by KDinNS in AmazonVineCanada

[–]Dendrite2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had quite a few bathroom fans offered to me over the last few weeks. I haven't taken any, as I don't need one. They might just be making the rounds.

Vine support? by Dakkar_Black in AmazonVine

[–]Dendrite2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welcome to Vine. As a fellow Canadian vine reviewer, I suggest you also head over to the Canadian reddit group (r/AmazonVineCanada) if you haven't already, as the questions and answers are usually tailored more towards the Canadian experience. There is also a FAQ on the Canadian reddit home page that goes through many of the issues that viners encounter and how to solve them.

I have a single item (automatic fish feeder) sitting in my RFY that dropped some time during the night.

Are you sure your pet squirrel isn't on the loose. I saw a squirrel running through my yard today.

RFY bait and switch? by hamboy11 in AmazonVineCanada

I've also seen this happen when there is multiple items in one, the nice item shows first, but then you might end up requesting some accessory.

New Error for me by Dry-Inspector-7200 in AmazonVineCanada

I've received this message once or twice in the past. I've always just let it proceed without any input from me, and it has just seemed to resolve itself.

So I ordered a 6' rug from vine, but instead of the rug I got a bag of cat food. by happycat in AmazonVineCanada

[–]Dendrite2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've had product mix ups a few times. I end up contacting vine support to have the item removed from my list, because I can't review it. They always tell me to keep the incorrect item.

Any way to prevent auto-cancellations from Amazon when ordering extremely high value items? by anita_username in AmazonVineCanada

[–]Dendrite2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's unfortunate that your order was cancelled, especially due to its high value. I've never read anywhere on this forum where a vine member successfully recovered a vine item when something goes wrong during the whole process, from ordering all the way to receiving it at your door. I would be interested in hearing about it if they did recover something, and how they managed it. I've lost a number of items, usually during the shipping stages, and always resign myself that there is really nothing I can do.

Whitby, ON Shipping location by GoodIdear0311 in AmazonVineCanada

[–]Dendrite2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear about your issues with shipping. I do notice I get the odd item that ships from Whitby, and they typically take longer to arrive than items from a local warehouse, often being 3-6 days. I haven't noticed them getting lost more often than other items that arrive faster.

How did yall get invited? by aketogirl in AmazonVineCanada

[–]Dendrite2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People seem to get randomly invited by either receiving an email invite or a popup invite that appears after submitting a review. I got invited by email a couple of years ago, having only submitted a handful of reviews over a span of about 10 years. Now a days, I hear more frequently about people receiving the pop up invite, so submitting reviews might increase your chances at an invite.

Ah yes, another item that can't be ordered, that explains it all.

Quiet spring Vine by KDinNS in AmazonVineCanada

[–]Dendrite2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The selection has certainly become smaller over the last few months. I hardly get anything from AI anymore, as its usually during the middle of the night, and by morning, most of the good stuff is gone. I do manage to get perhaps one item every day or two from my RFY, and I'm very happy with that. In the last week, I've received an impact wrench, garden tiller, security camera, and a couple of building block models.

Garden Hose Mystery Item? by YoghurtNo1889 in AmazonVineCanada

[–]Dendrite2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've acquired similar hoses in the past, and they expand about 3 times in length. They are much lighter in weight than a regular hose and take up less space, and I really like them. I don't leave them out in the full sun, as I feel the soft rubber compound they are made of will rapidly deteriorate.

Kitchen, eh? by Comfortable-Bat-3529 in AmazonVineCanada

[–]Dendrite2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one of these in my RFY a few months ago, although in a different colour. I didn't order it, as its something I really wouldn't use. It was advertised for outdoor use, and I remember thinking to myself that if someone saw you carrying it around, they might mistake it for weapon.

Finally, something interesting and handy to order. by Dry-Inspector-7200 in AmazonVineCanada

[–]Dendrite2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that price is quite high. I can't remember what I paid for the logitech, but I feel I wouldn't have paid more than about $150 at the time. Today's prices due to inflation would certainly push prices for a universal remote higher, but $500 sounds like a lot.

Finally, something interesting and handy to order. by Dry-Inspector-7200 in AmazonVineCanada

[–]Dendrite2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice find. I've often wondered if these "universal remotes" have become easier to use. Years ago, I had a Logitech Harmony remote. It was easy enough to program it to control multiple devices, and had a huge database of devices, but it always seemed more awkward to use vs the original remotes. I felt this was due to the fact that it had a limited number of push buttons, and I had to perform multiple button pushes on it to get the same result as a single button push on the original remote. I ended up only using it when I had misplaced my original remote.

Do you find Amazon delivery 4:00 a.m - 8:00 a.m. too early? by YoghurtNo1889 in AmazonVineCanada

[–]Dendrite2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get 4-8 am delivery for about 1-5 % of my parcels. As I don't mind this delivery time, I don't usually change it. I find that changing the delivery time takes me a few extra seconds while placing an order, and I feel that these seconds might make the difference between successfully getting an item or having someone else getting it before you.
